The diy electric community is making some big jumps lately. High power batteries are getting cheaper, a new big power controller is rapidly approaching release, and the big power motors are just waiting for the other two ingredients. Should see more guys in the 10's and maybe a few in the 9's.
I would love to build something like this though I have to imagine the batteries are a huge cost. Maybe a Fiero GT or MR2?
