DD#1 asked for a stapler for the holidays. She specifically mentioned upholstery.
I would like to get her a cordless one, but all I can find in cordless are finish staplers. I'm assuming that won't be good for upholstery. Or... will it? I've never used a finish stapler.
I used to have an old Craftsman electric stapler that was basically a powered version of a heavy duty hand unit. It was good for fabrics and cardboard etc. Anybody have any leads on a cordless one?
Thanks.
No idea on staplers, but I have 2 different ryobi nailers (18 gauge and 16 gauge - the 18 gauge one might do staples I guess) and they both kick all the butt. So nice not dragging around compressors and hoses.
Problem with the Ryobi linked above is the flat nose. For upholstery you want one with a protruding nose because of tight corners, piled fabric, etc.
Look at these from Sailrite. They're pneumatic, but you'll see what I mean. I've never looked for a battery powered one, but I'm watching this with interests because I promised myself I'd buy a powered stapler before my next upholstery project. I did a set of boat seats with a hand drive, flat nose hardware stapler and it SUCKED.

She's already got a Ridgid 18v drill and impact driver set, so it would be nice to stay in that battery ecosystem. Unfortunately all they have is this, which A) doesn't look like it drives staples, and B) gets terrible reviews.
