I watched the original Avengers movie a couple nights ago. It wouldn't have been all that bad if they would've cut out the fighting scenes. Those bore me to pieces.

I didn't care for Palpatine coming back, and I didn't understand the John Connor chasing John Connor thing. Will Smith as Genie was wierd, especially the part John Wick's 3rd dog bit him. Also, Howard the Duck.

You know how astronauts reply when asked what it's like to go into space? That they struggle to find a way to explain something to someone who may never experience what is not completely relatable? That's how I feel about reviewing Endgame.

Just go see it is all I can say.

Just watched it this afternoon.  The “girl power” scene was a bit silly but made TM happy.

It is a LONG movie, dehydrate beforehand to avoid bathroom stress.

Thor is hilarious.

Hulk is weird.

We enjoyed it a lot and will watch again on DVD.

I was holding it together pretty well until there was a roughly 10y.o. kid a few rows up completely bawling his eyes out. Just sobbing uncontrollably. How much these movies have meant to how many people, and everything going on... that did me in.

Normally who's credited as what doesn't matter to much to me. Who all got "Executive Producer" credit made me lose it again.

Wife of the couple the Dancer and I have seen most of the MCU movies with basically started crying from the opening scene and was on and off through the whole thing, which put the Dancer in a weepy mood as well.

Definitely one of those movies that takes some time to decompress afterward, and definitely warrants a re-watch (apparently there were a few cameos that I missed, unsurprisingly given how much was going on at times).

We got up early yesterday (for a Sunday...) to catch one of the first showings that day, with our friends who live closer having gotten there over an hour early- and wisely so given we'd not have been able to get seats together that weren't feet away from the screen if they hadn't done so. Someone asked the theater staffer helping direct seating and they said that it was the third showing of the day and it and both previous ones had been completely sold out- and that essentially every previous showing since it opened had been as well.

We absolutely loved it on the whole. The Dancer didn't like one of the major parts of the ending, but understood a bit better after we discussed it a bit and why it likely had to happen. They clearly had at least some of the things that happened planned out for a while and will require going back and looking a bit more closely at some scenes in previous movies...

I haven't bought a DVD/BRD in quite a while thanks to streaming- but if they release a full box set of all of the movies up until and including Endgame it will be very tempting to pick it up (and perhaps finally watch Thor 2, the only one of the movies I've not seen...).

Someday I'll get around to watching it.  I have somehow managed to avoid all of the Marvel movies, which is somewhat ironic since I used to manage a comic book store.  If you are like me and have not watched any of the movies yet, Google/Altpress says this is the viewing order:

Captain America: The First Avenger (1943 – 1945)

Captain Marvel (1995)

Iron Man (2010)

Iron Man 2 (2011)

The Incredible Hulk (2011)

Thor (2011)

Avengers (2012)

Iron Man 3 (2012)

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2014)

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Ant-Man (2015)

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2016)

Doctor Strange (2016 – 2017)

Black Panther (2017)

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Ant-Man and The Wasp (2017)

Avengers Infinity War (2017)

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

"If you were to watch all 22 movies, along with every spin-off and Marvel Netflix series, you’ll watch over nine full days of Marvel films."

Well, the good news is that you can largely ignore the non-movie content if you want. None of the Netflix series have any impact on the movies themselves (despite referencing them heavily), and though AoS does have a minor impact that's seen in Age of Ultron it's otherwise quite possible to ignore (though it is FAR more heavily impacted by things in the movies, especially Winter Soldier). AoS and Agent Carter are pretty good though, so worth watching (though AoS takes some time to hit its stride).

Saw Endgame and think it was great! Probably worth a second viewing. A lot going on. I had some tearful moments with the way the actors handled the fear in Scott Lang at both terror that his daughter was lost and the shifting to the terror of how his daughter feels that he is lost.

Natasha Romanov showing the strain of trying to hold everyone together. Her on Earth scenes were impressive.

Cap! Cap! I wasn't a Captain America fan until this movie series. I liked the moment when he shakes hands with Tony Stark and it seemed to me a moment where Tony realizes this is the only man in the universe that a handshake means so much. He probably shook hands on many deals but with Cap it means something more. Something meaningful that Tony wishes his own handshake meant. And in the end Tony's taking Thanos' hand meant everything.

Professor Hulk and Thor were incredibly funny together.

Oh man and the peak of emotions stretched from Cap lifting the Hammer until Capt Danvers dropped the space craft.

I liked that Thanos kept his wits about him to last through the Scarlett Witch and Capt. Marvel. Both way stronger than him. Tactics kept him in the fight to almost the point of winning.

Yes that girl power moment I felt was too obvious and separated. Took me out of the storytelling. Like how did women only all manage to gather at the same spot in this crazy battle? It could have been done more believably to show them leading that surge in the fight.

They did announce a massive 22-movie set with all of the movies through Endgame... will have to see just how big of a cost hit that will be...

These are the ones I've seen in who knows which order, but I put them in the rough order I watched them. Although I only made it through maybe 15 minutes of Ant Man and the Wasp before I turned it off. Having not seen Ant Man, I was confused and decided then next time they said "quantum realm" I was turning it off. I put it on the list all the same.

Out if these, I liked the first Guardians and Infinity War. The rest were not all that interesting to me. Based on the reviews, I do want to see Endgame, but not planning on going back to watch a billion hours of CGI fighting scenes in all the movies I haven't seen yet.

I do like Jessica Jones series, but haven't finished season 2 yet.

Iron Man (2010)

Iron Man 2 (2011)

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2014)

Ant-Man and The Wasp (2017)**

Avengers (2012)

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Avengers Infinity War (2017)

I'm sure there are summaries that would help get you up to speed on what you've missed... but then, you've seen Infinity War already so if it made a decent amount of sense you should be reasonably good. Civil War  would have been the one other I'd have recommended before IW since it covers a lot of stuff, but again- you've already seen IW so it would just be perhaps filling in a few things that you might not have been completely up to speed on. For that matter, the Captain America movies in general cover a lot (since Cap is a bit part of things), but again what having seen all the other Avengers movies you've likely got enough general background. Captain Marvel would be good to see before Endgame, but a synopsis would likely cover it.

If you liked GotG, you'd likely enjoy Ant Man- it has a lot of the same humorous bend to it, and in many ways is as much of a heist movie as it is a superhero movie. Similarly, Thor: Ragnarok was way funnier and more fun than expected (so far Thor 2 is the only of the movies I've not seen- I just wasn't that fond of the first one) and sets things up to where they are at the beginning of IW.

Technically though, Marvel & Ant Man and the Wasp are the only things between IW and Endgame, and the salient points you need to know for those can be gleaned from the internets. You'll miss a LOOOOT of subtle things and callbacks, but not enough to lessen the enjoyment of it overall I'd say.

I agree as well that it wasn't really needed and felt kinda forced but at least they didnt make it into a big huge deal and moved on from it quickly. On one hand having a 7 year old daughter who enjoys all these super hero movies sometimes it's nice to have role models that aren't princesses but on the other hand she already liked the female hero's without needing a 'girl power' scene.

I though Captain Marvel took place in the 90's? That's the only one of the 22 movies I haven't seen yet and didn't feel like I missed anything from Endgame by not seeing it.

Captain Marvel took place in the 90's, but came out between IW and Endgame- and both it and AM&TW contributed salient material to Endgame. It's mainly useful simply for the fact that it's Carol Danvers' introduction, so otherwise people could be left wondering who the heck she is and what she can potentially do without some research.
