I've been having a lot of these lately - 'Smart energy', blood orange and chili flavor.

They're expensive as hell, but I find most of the other ones all have the same medicinal taste. And half a liter of Monster or Rockstar is too much, anyway.

Also, we can't have a thread about energy drinks without POWERTHIRST.

im addicted to coffee and i run up a good bill at dunkies every month with it...oh and finding myself becoming more and more addicted to fast twitch for biking and running and ill probably find out im going to die at 47 because of it...

we were sponsored by red bull up at our skate warehouse! That supply they gave us lasted about a week... but damn that was a good week! oh, the red bull and cola SUCKS!!!

I don't know about the rest of the US, but you can get Mexican Coke (or "Mexicoke" as we call it at casa Tanner) by the case at Sam's Club. I try not to keep soft drinks in the house because then I drink waaaay too many of them, but we'll pick that up once in a while. It tastes better than US Coke does anyhow, at least to someone who grew up drinking the cane sugar Canadian stuff.

At the Land Rover National Rally a few years back, the Red Bull girls showed up one day and gave out cans of the stuff to all the LR guys. Everybody grabbed a can (of the Red Bull! get your mind out of the gutter) that morning. The next day, nobody would touch the case they'd left behind.

My attitude towards all of the energy drinks is this - for every peak, there is a valley. Whatever chemical or drugs the companies use to rev up your system, what happens when they are gone? If you're tired or low on energy, maybe there's a good reason. If I'm doing something physically demanding, I just stick to Gatorade, Powerade, or water. If I'm tired, it means I need to get some rest. I pump enough chemicals into my system during a normal day without making the situation even worse.

I tried it and I actually didn't care for it. It was in a glass bottle though, and I don't know if that affects it. Even with regular coke, I swear it tastes better from a can than a plastic bottle.

As for energy drinks, I like plain ol' Red Bull sometimes. Won't do the sugar free ones though - I'll take sugar over chemicals. Not like any of them are THAT good for you. I'm a skinny guy though, and my jobs keeps me moving around, so I doubt TOO much of that sugar ends up getting stored.

They have the mexican coke here at Costco, but being this close to the border, well I guess sometime has its perks. It's about 18 bucks a 24 pack.

Also those that want cane sugar, all the jones sodas are now cane, and you can get ones that are good, not just the turkey and gravy.

For those that drink a good amount of coffee, seriously, get a French Press if you haven't yet. It makes such a better cup of coffee than a drip coffee maker, and they aren't crazy expensive like a good espresso machine. I spent less than $30 in my insulated 20 oz press and it has served me well so far.

Agreed, but I just discovered this thing and it's even better.

It's quicker, easier, less cleanup, and makes a better cup of coffee than the french press. Around $25, so it's about the same price. Plus it travels better since it's not glass, and it looks like some sort of ridiculous lab equipment which is just cool. I have no idea why the triangle frisbee people also produce this thing, but I heartily thank them for it.

I once drank 3 cups of coffee, had a jelly donut and then the Red Bull girls showed up and I of course drank one. I was literally climbing the walls. Never again.
