So I had a pretty not-so-spectacular day today. Got up at 4:30 am to take my wife to the hospital for neck surgery. So that was basically a day of sitting around waiting for others to tell me what to do, and waiting for my wife to get a room after surgery which didn't happen before I left at 2pm.
Went to pick up my youngest son at my wife's cousins house. Arrived and hung out for about 20 minutes before having to get my oldest son from an after school program. Left youngest where he was because he wanted to play with his cousin. On the way back from getting son number two at school I rear-ended a pregnant woman in a Honda Pilot at a stop light because I was distracted by my son in the rear of my Suburban telling me about rocket club.
Not a scratch on the Pilot as it seems I hit the receiver hitch mostly, but the bumper on my 'burban is toast. Where is my best source for a new/used bumper for this truck? On the bright side the woman was really cool, and it turns out she works with my wife's cousin who's house my son was at. She took down my info, but didn't think it was ay big deal, and probably wouldn't file a claim. Very cool!!
So not the worst day, but not a great day as I am tired, have a dented truck, a wife in the hospital still, and homework to help with still after dinner. Also it was a day of pretty much doing nothing which sounds cool sometimes, but really isn't. On the bright side I seemed to have figured out the coolant issue I was having with the Cressida last night. Loose radiator hose clamp seems to have fixed it. 5-6 turns on the screw, loose which was crazy. I was thinking bad head gasket at first, but the leak down revealed the loose clamp, and nothing else so far.
If you're going to rear-end a Pilot, use the Suburban, not the Cressida. Seriously, though, there's a whole bunch of stress in doing nothing if you have to do it while your wife is in surgery. Do whatever you do (non-chemically!) to relax, and I really hope tomorrow is better.

On the plus side, sounds like you did very well today in the dad and hubby categories.

That sucks, I have my way of dealing with stress, its called nicotine.
We are out $1750 on our bathroom model since the contractor decided to break our contract when I wouldn't give him more money.......even though he has essentially nothing accomplished past demo and installing the tub.
We could easily win in Small Claims, and then never get paid.
So not the best day here either.
That actually sounds like a pretty good day. You didn't kill a pregnant woman.... You fixed your coolant leak (leaks make me crazy) and you found out that your a good enough father to actually pay attention to your son (though you need to work on your timing)
Plus you can now upgrade your front end on the Suburban and your plenty rested up because you sat around all day!
I would actually trade you for my whole weekend...

Woke up at 5:00AM to go play hockey. With about 5 minutes left, I'm cutting to the left and my edge gives out, and I go down hard. Hit my head (in a helmet) on the ice hard. Didn't think anything of it. By the time I get to work, I feel pressure in my head and am extremely tired. Pretty sure I gave myself a concussion. Go home at 9:00AM, and sleep from 10:00AM until 4:00PM. Which is saying something considering I had 8 hours of sleep last night.
Not a great day, but could've been a lot worse. How's your wife?
http://www.car-part.com/ to find a used bumper.
Stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson.
Be very sure you get this brand.
When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed.
Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.
Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is this statement:
"Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson iIs personally tested and then sanitized."

Was planning to ride after work yesterday and then work on the Mini and GT6. Instead, computer issues kept me here until after 6pm until I finally got tired of staring at a locked up computer and went to my g/f's house instead to hang more sheetrock. Got there, changed, ate something and got sucked into watching netflix. Nothing accomplished.
Got in this morning... computer hadn't miraculously unlocked itself (no surprise...) so Ctrl-Alt-Delete; restart. Restart ACAD and all of the work I did last night before the lock-up is gone. Nice.
sigh... ...first world problems...

I bet they could find someone who likes it to do that job

On the bumper thing...
Since you are local, try either Everett's or RC Truck Sales in Brockton. They are right across the street from each other on Thatcher St. I scored both bumpers for my Dakota at Everetts used for less than $100. RC Truck will either have a used one or be able to get you a new one. They are usually pretty reasonable.
Just went to both today. RC can get me a new bumper with the plastics for $300. Everett's didn't seem to have anything worth removing at this time.
