FWIW- there are CAFE standards for trucks. And all of that has become moot with the newest CAFE standards, which is calculated via all of the vehicles that an OEM makes.

Insane profit margin is relative. Even with the best of the best margins, Toyota's best years were in the 5% profit area. Which is not all that much relative to other industries.

But opinons are like.....

We rented an Edge for our trip to Barber this year. I was very pleased with the fit, finish, ride quality, and performance. I would LOVE to drive one with the Ecoboost. It is my favorite of the mid-size SUV/glorified station wagons, that I have driven.

And it was instrumental in our decision, to go with a F-150 instead of a Tundra, for our next truck.

The interior space may have been decreased marginally, but this is still a pretty big beast inside. It has much less room than a Suburban, but much more than an X5, or that hideous Acura ZDX.

I actually like the looks, but it's "butchness" reduces outward visibility which bugs me. I'd rather actually see the outdoors with my own eyes, instead of relying on computer nannies to tell me if something is there.
