Newey started as a nobody at some time, too. And has some failures, as well. Racecar Engineering has had some good articles covering the history of some of the best designers, and they did cover Newey pretty recently.

Gotta start somewhere- if you are good enough, you can become a ledgend. If not, it would be pretty interesting to do a 1-2 year stint in Europe.

It takes some special gumption to be in F1.

Applied.. I know that my recently graduated, nanotech intensive studies may not have much chance, but its worth the long shot.

Helps that the GF studied abroad over in England and would do A LOT to go back.

I wonder if the amount of stress I have from a 2500 mile/month commute for a $1500/month job qualify me to be a stress engineer? I definitely know how to engender stress in myself.
