any one familiar with these chainsaw's? They seem to be clones of Stihl's and husqvarnas.

Basically all I am worried about is reliability.

Then you should buy a Stihl or Husqvarna.

Unless you are looking for a saw that you will use once or twice a year and are not worried about replacing it in 3 or 4 years.

If Huskie, don't buy the models at the big box stores. They have gotten WAY cheaply made.
I have a few echo saws, and am extremely happy with them. Cost about the same as the Stilh homeowner grade (or a bit less for a good shopper) but knocking on the door of the stilh pro saws.
If your only using one time to time (as I assume - most that need a pro level saw already have a huge preference) go cordless. I garuntee you won't regret it!!!

Bro.  You can buy a legit Stihl from a legit dealer for under $400 (and a lot less for homeowner use).  There is absolutely no reason to ever buy a used chainsaw, a cheap chainsaw, or anything like that, when a brand new genuine article is so reasonable (and keeps its value because dumdums buy used ones like they are popcorn at the movies.

I had to think about how a chainsaw could possibly have a cord :)

I've seen rave reviews about them but I've never owned one

For a cheaper firewood saw I've used a Poulan for years

I would feel better with a used Stihl or equivalent.  At least you should be able to find parts.

BUT, $159 for a climbing saw? I love my Stihl top handle but if you wanted to add one to your tool shed for minor use, I'd be tempted.

The handiest saw I ever bought (and still have) is a cheap one I got at Harbor Freight. Electric, corded, cuts like crazy, light as a feather and it just....................works.

Mind you I wouldn't use it if I were making a living with it, but for homeowner use? Perfect. It's about 20 years old now and all I've done is sharpen the blade and add bar oil.

Yes, dragging a cord out can be a bit of a pita, but never having to worry about whether I have gas, whether it's gotten old, whether it will start and so on makes that pretty much not a problem.

I know there have been major improvements in battery tech, but I'm still not keen on them, seems like anytime I need to use my cordless drill the battery is either dead or good for one hole, then I have to wait while it charges.......

I've watched a lot of reviews and have thought about buying one of the large 80cc+ ones for milling but never pulled the trigger. I think they make sense for occasional use, if anything breaks just replace it with a genuine stihl part.
