Have you done any research on them? Which one are you looking at? I've been thinking along the same lines but haven't talked to anyone who uses one.

I've got the Porsche 911 wheel (the one that works with pc/xbox/ps3) and I upgraded from the old standard pedals to the new elite pedals.

The older standard pedals on mine had issues in how the pedals/potentiometers were mounted to the all plastic base. After a year or so, the pedal inputs became erratic. The elite pedals have a much sturdier mounting setup.

What do you want to know?

Do the elite pedals have load cells in them? About how much does the whle setup cost including shipping? Where do you think is the best place to buy?

Elite pedals have a load cell in the brake. Standard pedals don't. You can buy a pedal inversion kit for both the new std and elite pedals.

It depends on which wheel you get and which pedals you get. I believe they can only be ordered from the fanatec website. I got the wheel/original pedal set as a Christmas gift. The elite pedals cost about $150 separately.

If you get the elite pedals, you can actually fab up your own pedal box, because the pedals (and circuit board) can be removed from the base fairly easily. (It's designed that way for the inversion kit.) If you're really ambitious, you can pull the potentiometers and load cell from the pedals and fab up your own pedals too.

Stan: Give a visit to the forums at www.gtplanet.net. There is a special board there for cockpits and wheels. Not only is it a big, active community, but folks from Fanatec participate in the discussion.

speaking of the fanatec wheel setups. I was lurking in the FM drift forums and found this. If you need an analog handbrake lever for your drifting needs......might be a solution available soon....
