Didn't you start a thread stating quite the opposite back in January? There are a few clunkers on the new album, but I like it as a whole.

See below.

The current album, while very good, has gone over the wear-out point from commercial overplaying - in fact the two main singles are not at all the best songs on the album. But their older stuff is flat out amazing.

Back on the original topic: Damon Albarn / Blur / Gorillaz

Half of Damon's stuff is simply great: catchy, interesting, complex, and entertaining. Then he remembers that he lost the BritPop war to Oasis, and makes the other half of his stuff purposely unlistenable, grating crap.

I think I misunderstood the original question. I love me some Zappa, but can't stand anything after about 79. It just sounds like commercial garbage to me.

You may know the answer to this then: What product is being advertised in the commercial that uses one of their songs? I want be sure and not buy whatever it is.

I have heard that their songs are used in a lot of commercials. I don't hear, or see too many commercials, so I have no idea.

I'm going to go listen to some right now, just for you, and I'm going to play it REALLY loud.

i've been on a Foo Fighters kick lately.. but there's no bad songs there.

in the spirit of this thread, i'll say that every Suicidal Tendencies album after 'The Art of Rebellion' has pretty much sucked.

I did, and indeed there are three or four songs on it that I really like. I can usually listen to an album on endless loop for months. I rocked out Fashion Nugget for the better part of a year. But the more I listen to the new one, the less I seem to like it. The whole thing gives me the vibe that John Mcrae (I think that's his name) was in a bit of a funk when he wrote it. Still a huge Cake fan though.
