My go to is from a local, Bluegrass Brewing Co. Bourbon Barrel Stout Being in KY, they have the inside line on the bourbon barrels I suppose. By far the best of the bourbon beers that I have tried. Warsteiner or Spaten Dunkels are pretty high on my list for fall and winter beers. General drinking purposes I go straight to the champagne of (bottled) beers!

If I am feeling cheap simple times from trader Joes is hard to beat its the 2 buck chuck of beers.

For good beer I am sorta casting about for one. The local brewery used to make excelent beer but their brewer quit and since then the place has sucked.

No that is Ola Dubh. But I can get both Old Engine Oil and Ola Dubh at Greater Spirits in Huntsville Al.

Big fan of Stouts/Porters here.

Youngs Double Chocolate Stout + Wells Banana Bread beer in the same = Chocolate Banana bread, it's good stuff. I tend to prefer a bit more of the Stout in the mix.

Rogue Chocolate Stout, Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout, Fullers London Porter, anything by Shalafly's (although we can't get it here in OK, have to go to MO). Lots of good beers out there.

Leinenkugel, Leinenkugel summer wheat, Yuengling, Shocktop. I'll even go for Bud Lite Lime "in the can" on occasion.

I was on jury duty for a murder trial last year and there was much talk of Natty light from the defendant. It figures that's also the drink of choice of my favorite psychopaths at the Challenge.

You want me to pick one? Have you lost your mind! Right now since its in season I like drinking Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. I also will always seek out Sclenkerla ur-bock rauchbier (smokebeer) just because its such an out there flavor that smacks you like the ho you are and makes you come back for more.

Blue Moon and Purple Haze are always good, basic fallbacks, but lately I've really been enjoying Sam Adams Cream Stout and White Ale.

Full Sail Wassail is my current go-to winter warmer. Pyramid's Snow Cap is also on the roster. Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA is always good. The west coast puts out really fantastic beers. And I don't need a doc to give me a script to get one! Well, not yet.

I actually keep Coor's Light around 99% of the time. It's very much like sex in a canoe, as the joke goes. Wife and I recently discovered that we can sub in Pellegrino mineral water for CL and not be able to tell the difference, except for the minor buzz.

When I want to taste my beer, I like all different kinds of pale ale (sierra nevada and sweetwater 420), and the occasional Guinness.

I've heard some good things about the trader Joes house beers but for some reason they won't sell in pa!

For all the porter/stout heads in this thread, I will highly recommend checking out Zywiec Porter from Poland. It is a baltic porter that clocks in at 9.5%. It is very good going down but will punch ya later on..

I had Fat Tire on tap once and for hours afterward, I had this overwhelming flowery taste in my mouth. I know what hops are, but this was ridiculous. It was as if I scooped everything off of a bathroom counter and swallowed it. Or as if I ran through a garden with my mouth open. I don't like eating bouquets of things, so I haven't had it since. Your results may vary, however.

I am enjoying a Troegs Troegenator at the moment. It is the first Doublebock I have ever had and I like it quite a bit. I have some Young's Double Chocolate for later on tonight.

I've never been a fan of the "King" either. Their Light is pedestrian at best, but the "new" Select is actually not that bad.. little or no aftertaste.
