My Readers' Rides section pretty much has it covered:
^^ Technically these started as 1990 models but they sold them well into MY89 so I'm counting them
Also add the AW11 & SW20 MR2 (a few '89 models sold of that too), AE86, Alpine A310, Giugiaro & Stevens Esprits, 930 Slantnose, 928, and Mk.II Celica & Supra. Just about anything from that era with two doors and flip up headlights is fine by me.
I'd have to go for these.
Star/quest for me.
But the BRAT is a very close second.
The later Cutlasses were nice with the Euro lights. I had this one for a couple years and it was super sweet.
Gotta say the Elkys from that time weren't bad either.
I had this sweet little E30 Cabrio for a few years and loved it.
I may be one of the few that think these looked better with age, exception being the very early models. By the late eighties, this was a great precurser to what would now be considered a retro-design (Mustang,Beetle, Mini), with the funny part being it just stayed the same so long it came back in style and aped itself a little.
Lets see, Countach, check. Delorean, check. AC 911, check
oh and this, because it ended the 80's with a bang (even though it was still a concept)
I eventually got one of these:
Mustang notchback with the 5.0.
This hung on my wall for years, and I still want one:
This hit the streets in 1989 and I still want one (white with black top, stock please)
and this also led to a fascination with the Galant VR4, the 323GTX...

, that your 900, Powar?
Those wheels, that colour (+ red interior?), looks absolutely perfect. Makes me want to de-spoiler mine, now.
Aaand another of my '80s favourites:
Oh yeah... i gotta add Saab SPG.

Yessir, and you're right about the Colorado Red interior.
Wasn't the good Turbo trans am available in 89?

A fellow GRM'er gave me a ride in one of these years ago. It both impressed the hell out of me and scared the crap out of me at the same time. I want one of these and a matching M3 please.
Some of my other personal 80's "greatest hits":
1987 Grand National:
1987 Trans Am GTA:
1987 Shelby CSX (I just had to, I own one):
1988 Box Flares...er...Starion:
1987 Turbo Slant Nose 911:
1984-85 Escort GT Turbo (Bonus: nice moustache!)
There are so many awesome 80's cars. I want to drive them all while blaring some Whitesnake out of their graphic equalizer-equipped tape decks!
944
280ZX Turbo
85 Mustang GT (in black with T-tops please)
308
Grand National
GTI
Mk 2 Scirocco
84 Colt Turbo with twin stick
Lincoln Mark VII LSC
GLH
E30 M3
I still miss my '86 Corvette. It had the Z51 suspension package before they dumbed it down - it was rather unforgiving and I had to sell it before I was able to really learn to get the most out of it. But it was one of the most fun to drive cars I've owned.

I see those and I think of these
They look to me like they were designed by a group of 10 year old boys.
My wife's favorite, hence my quest to find this one
