I got a couple bottles for Christmas. Old Forrester 100 and Bulleit 1/4 oak.
Enjoy my bourbons on just a couple of ice cubes, no mixers.
Old forester is my go to right now. If you like the 100, you'll LOVE the 1920 prohibition.
I drink scotch neat but the only drink I make with scotch is a Godfather....it's a drink everyone should have at least once.
1 shot scotch, Islay is preferred Laphroaig 10 is my go-to here
1 shot Amaretto. I prefer Di Amore
Its spectacular. You could do it with bourbon too but it'll probably be very sweet
Sounds like that should be called a Canoeboulou.
When we were in Jamaica, we had Sangsters Rum Cream. Absolutely delicious. But you can't get it here. I found a recipe that is pretty damn close:
-
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
-
1-1 1/4 c amber rum (appleton's is what i use)
-
1 c cream or half and half
-
3 Tbsp chocolate syrup
-
2 Tbsp fresh brewed coffee
-
1 tsp real vanilla extract
-
1 tsp coconut extract
Throw them all in a blender, chill for an hour.
I feel that I should mention a Godfather again. They are that good
Haven't done liquor in years, evidently I'm not very good at it.
Rusty nail. 2 parts scotch, 1 part Drambuie, twist.
I used to make fancy drinks at happy hour for folks. One of the faves I would do is a Peach Cobbler Martini. Peach brandy, splash of peach vodka, splash of frangelico (that's what gives the bready/oatmeal flavor), cream. Shake forever. Plunge the shaker into the well and spin in between making other drinks. Re-shake forever again. Pour into a chilled martini glass. It will be thick and have ice chunks in it almost as if you started the process of making ice cream. Cinnamon stick stir/garnish, and grind some fresh nutmeg with a nut on a rasp.
You can adjust that for any flavor you wish. Blackberry you could use Chambord and blackberry vodka. Apple, blueberry, whatever. You can also do it just as a straight up brandy and finish with a couple drops of vanilla (which I called a Panna Cotta). I also did the Panna Cotta cocktail with caramel and called it a Flan.

Awrite, I'll try it...(sip) yeah OK. The smoke goes with the almonds quite well. Trying it with an Ardbeg wee beastie, next time I'll give it a go with Laphroig....cheers!

I prefer the Rusty Nail - scotch and Drambuie.
Fave scotch has to be Lagavulin, but it's a little too punchy neat. Splash of water

I've been trying to find Wee Beastie around me and haven't had any luck.
I'm glad you liked it, imo it's probably the best cocktail people haven't tried

I usually drink Laga neat, it's definitely a smoother Islay.
Have you tried Laphroaig? It's......much punchier than Laga
