I've always had a thing about Delta 88's and 98's. This is what I would like to drive from Chicago to Florida in.
I learned to drive in a '73 Delta 88 4-door Hardtop. Pop bought it $375, when his Monte Carlo puked.
Ours was blue with white vinyl roof.
This ain't it, though.
I think my favorite Oldsmobiles are from that era. And if you're going to have four doors, might as well have a 4 door hardtop. Make mine a 72 Olds 98.
Edit : great minds think alike, apparently!
that 98 looks -very- Cadillac like

There's a perverted part of me that loves M body Mopars for some unknown reason.

Why is that perverted? I love M bodys. We had a cop car dippy when I was around 12. My mom rolled on two idiots in a 80s IROC camaro on the interstate in it. 318/4bbl with 3.90s and a sure-grip. I'd love to find one now.
Obscure fact: The holes in the dog dishes were to keep them from popping off under higher speeds and hard cornering.
I had a 72 Lesabre like this one
Paid $75 for it, but it came with a $100 hydraulic bumper jack. I think we got a good two years out of it.
and a slightly modified Fiat 128 sedan
Love me some fuselage body C-Body Mopars. Great driving cars!
technically a 70s car as it debuted in 1979.. the Fiat Ritmo/Strada

4 doors from the 70s can never be more bad ass than this.
am I the only one who thinks that all cop cars should look like that?
This was thought one for me too

That's an '80's M-body. The '70's version was more Aspen-Volare looking:
Lancia Betas
Lancia Beta Sedan (no it is not a hatchback)
Lancia Beta Trevi (for those people who did not like the fastback shape of the standard sedan)

I believe that body style debuted in 78?
Edit: This is a 77

The car. The jack lasted forever, but once the 70's cars were gone, you couldn't use it on anything

So I go looking for information on the Beta Trevi because I can't think of any reason that the car is interesting. It looks like a 70's Merc, which is sort of cool, but not that amazing.
Then I find this picture of the dash;
Okay then...
the dashboard is pretty amazing. Shame they never offered that variant here in the states

Yep '77. The F-bodies started in '76. The C-pillar and rear window line on the early M's shared more with the F's. When the body was refreshed for '80 it got more squared off, and the C a little thicker.

Does anybody else turn their head like a confused dog looking at that?
