One raid went down in my hometown and another raid in the small town next door. I have a friend who lives in that neighborhood. No info yet. All were sealed warrants. Everything from bomb sniffing dogs to helicopters to satellite communications were used in this effort.

Seven people have been arrested for allegedly selling pipe bombs in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, Fox News has learned.
The arrests and raids in Michigan and Indianapolis are related to alleged militia activity in the region, but are not related to international terrorism. There is not a current threat to the public, according to a law enforcement source.

Please sit still and look at this
why am I glad I live in the more crime ridden and liberal north east?
If you are too lazy to build your own pipe bomb you should get caught.
Please note the above statement is not condoning the construction, sale or use of pipe bombs or any type of bombs or ordanance against our fair and benevolent government only a dislike towrds people to lazy to do simple projects themselves not that I'm saying making a pipe bomb or other bomb is simple, heavens I don't even know where to begin our what to use, for all I know they may not even be made from pipes that could just be to keep the public from finding out how to build such awful awful devices. Please don't come to my house and bust down my door my puppy and I scare easy and I don't take torture well.
There is a growing sentiment that this charge of selling pipe bombs is a BS charge. By definition, a pipe bomb is typically a homemade device.
There are some internet theories floating around. One is of public Islamic threats by this group. Another has to do with an unsolved murder in Michigan and yesterday's memorial service for the departed.
This seems to be the group in question:

I'm glad I live in the politically confused "southern" region called Florida, where we get the whole gambit of crimes.

A few years ago, I decided to try building my own fuel surge tank out of short lengths of 2" water pipe.
I went to the Home Depot, stocked up on the necessary bits, and looked in the basket and realized what it might appear I was doing...
Four CH-47 E36 M3Hooks with in-air refueling booms flew over us today. They were blue, I think, hard to tell, but not black and at maybe 1000 ft over terrain. The noise was tremendous. I think they were on the way to iggy's place.
In every group of 4 people, one is a Federal informant. There was a group about 2 miles from me a couple years ago. Maybe 10 guys who called themselves the Washington County Militia. I'd see them at gun shows with a booth. I felt like asking them who the informant was, but I never said anything to them. I figgered they'd figger it out eventually. One of them was a Federal snitch and he snitched the rest off, sending at least the leader to the joint. Dip E36 M3s.
thankfully the feds are pretty good at infiltrating the more radical groups. It is the people like McVay and Nichols who more or less work alone (and the unibomber) that you have to worry about
The Feds had an informant in McVay/Nichols' little club house too. Specifically in the trailer park in OK. They were snitched off, the Feds just blew it.
The Unibomber type are the real dangerous ones. And he'd still be mailing bombs if he hadn't mailed off his manifesto and his brother read it and snitched him off.
How true. The probability of keeping a secret decreases proportionally with the number of people who learn it.
BTW: the Fibbies don't do something this public without having a damn good reason. The payoff better be worth the backblast, knowhutimean?

Not according to the 9/11 truthers that keep talking to me
Hey, anyone remember the first Jessie James TV/Cable shows/specials? They wore black T-shirts that said: "Three can keep a secret if two are dead." His secret keeping ain't been too good here lately.

That's right, they learned from the 'moon landings were faked' crowd. Way ahead of us mere mortals.

I think that's a Mark Twain quote and all three (8, 10? are alive).
Anyone remember the Northern Exposure episode where a guy goes into the general store to buy dynamite and is told you can't w/o a permit.
He says, OK, I need 12" of iron pipe and a case of shotgun shells (which he gets w/o question.)

I had a feeling things were going to start getting wacky again in this country...
Since when is selling pipe bombs not a threat to the public?

Are you a "snitch" in this case? I mean, acting to save the lives of your fellow citizens by giving up the knobs who want to blow others up?

I hear the Weathermen have a friend who is now some bigtime Fed.
