The body doesn't look bad... except for those A pillars.
I worked on my 300SLR for a few hours this weekend, and realized why I had such a hard time with it in the past..... NOTHING fits! Every single part needs serious clean up, and they still don't fit cleanly together. Lots of filling and sanding is in my future.
This is a very optimistic kit for Revellogram. It's made like a Tamiya/Fujimi style kit... but with Revell style mold quality, and that just doesn't work.

Oh my. I cannot wait to get started with this one:
It's probably been over 30 years since I built a Corvette, and I don't think I've ever built a C2. At first glance the kit appears to be well made and it includes some photo-etched metal bits, which is something I've never tried before. The instruction book is quite a bit thicker than anything I've dealt with before.
First thing on the list is to research Grand Sports to see what liveries were run. The cover art white/blue is appealing but I'll keep my options open. I remember reading about Grand Sports in my dad's Corvette Club magazines back when I was a kid so I'm familiar with their history and their mystique; I hope I can do the kit justice.

Yes! I am glad you like it!
The white/blue is not only a real livery, it is none other than Jim Hall (of Chaparral) and Roger Penske!! The photoetch is optional. The kit is made by a now-defunct company called Accurate Miniatures who absolutely set the gold standard in the late-90's-mid-00's for kits. I have their McLaren M8B that I have been afraid to build.
I found some inspiration in my stash...
I've got some gold Daytons around here somewhere, too...

I am pretty sure the built ones I have seen were done with Testors glue. Another history note for all, and why the Triumph is probably the most accurate kit Pyro ever did.....The Pyro company was directly across the street from the east coast Triumph distributor, Genser-Forman inc.
The reason I said the tube glue was unsuitable is there is no way to hold those pieces together accurately while the glue sets. Difficult enough with my Zap super glue which takes about 15 minutes. Testors takes hours. You really just have to hold it with your hands until it sets up. And there are still some gaps, but the Zap filled them pretty well. No Squadron putty for me, thank heavens.
Trying to decide on a color. I have some pale yellow, which was a popular color. Thought about light blue or the medium blue.
I also have some left over maroon.

Hard to beat a British Racing Green GT6 with a white stripe and meatball. Just my opinion.

BRG is the obvious answer, which is why I'm not going there.
Glad you like the kit choice, Wally. That was one I'd never seen before. Hopefully you can make something cool out of it...in a color other than yellow.

Check the windshield fit in that kit... can't remember if that's one of the one with issues or not... haven't built a Buick in decades. You may need to make a lip on the inside of the body for the windshield to sit on.
I have made rapid progress on the Mercury. I worked on it during every yellow flag while I kept the 24 hour on RadioLemans for the entire race. More when I woke up Monday morning too. Many sub-assemblies and most of the interior are done. Lots of parts box goodies too.
I love the shape of the car, I'm not a big early Corvette fan but Thom Taylor tweeked this enough that it looks really good. The downside is I'm not a fan of oversized, shallow Torque thrusts. They're definitely period correct for when the model was released but no. I'm going with the tires from the Rat Trap Vega modified kit. They're a square setup which is wrong for a mod but I think will work here. I'm undecided on wheels so far though.

Parts box seats. I never had a Pontiac Grand Prix kit, but I did build a Fiero when it was first released, and I think these came in that kit, it had lots of extras.
Since we all have our kits are we ok starting now and finishing the 28th? Thank

Starting now? Done
Finishing...let me get back to you on that. But yeah, go ahead, pencil in the 28th.

That's a well detailed kit. I think I have a book on Grand Sports somewhere if you have any questions.
The body is in primer, the molded in exhaust was cut off and some nascar headers were pulled from the parts box to replace the manifolds.
Well dang... I'm just finding this now. This would have been heaps of fun.
Good luck with the builds.
I'm enjoying the variety of kits here! I'm feeling a mixture of mild regret and also relief for not being a part of this one. There's no way I could've focused enough to get a build done right now, let alone selected a kit for the exchange.

Shoot I'll send you something if you want to join in!

Totally agree. I wish I could've participated, but time isn't on my side right now.
Base gloss white is down after white primer. Must gas out for at least 48 hours before the black goes on.
Waiting for the flat black to dry flat to see if I laid it on too thick.

If it's a 2 month build, yeah, I'm in, if it's a by the end of February build there's no way I could finish.
3 nights of sanding until my fingertips hurt, lol. Got a lot of the parts cleaned up. Horrible seams and mold/pin marks removed. Body sanded down to 2000. Chrome stripped off of the wheels and other assorted pieces. Engine block glued together, gaps filled and sanded. Same with the fuel tank, and brakes/axles. About a dozen more parts to go, then I can think about paint. Really want to do some engine detailing... and I have replacement decals on the way.
