April Fools' build. Dang it; I wish I still had that Chrysler turbine engine...

Sounds like you're hosting. Get a thread up!

Sigh... OK, I'll do it after work.
Here are all the contestants for anyone that wants to vote
VWCorvette's NASCAR Buick
Javelin's Impala
ddavidv's Triumph
Saron's Mercedes
TurnerX19s Mercury
My Corvette
I don't see any pics of Claff's finished Grand Sport, I thought I had somewhere.
That Mercedes turned out sooooo nice. I should have voted for that. And the Regal. And the Vette. I love the Triumph and the Grand Sport, too.
My vote goes to the Mercury. I almost put 'Merc' but realized that would be confusing. The Mercedes is a strong second. The Regal is right up there too, aside from the windshield.
I would like to see a bunch of votes from non participants. We all have too much skin in the game, I sent a Merc and received a Merc
My vote is for the Mercedes with the green Vette next.
Can y'all better explain the April fool's build? Is this like when you make a cake that looks like a turkey, but tastes like mashed potatoes? (Yes, I watch too many baking shows!)
In reply to TurnerX19 :
Y'all did impressive work given only a month. OK, so if we're talking a podium, these are my picks:
1) Saron's Mercedes 722
2) Turner X19's Jag-powered Merc (frenchyd would be proud).
3) vwcorvette's Regal
In reply to vwcorvette (Forum Supporter) :
It wouldn't be fair if they let them run the buick engine.

Well...
I intentionally left it vague so as to not stifle creativity. Think of it like a 20xx challenge and get weird. Do an odd engine swap, like a rotary in a corvette, or do a car/style mismatch like a Bokozoku tow truck or a pro street caravan.
Someone should look at it and think "what the..." and then smile from ear to ear.
In reply to RustBeltSherpa :
Frenchy's sentiments on the Jag engine are spot on, and one of the reasons I built this model and the previous Nova the way I did.
Triumph GT6 review video is up.
The Mercedes is fantastic! I would totally drive the Impala. And I love the front end treatment on the Mercury.
So this showed up in the mail today:
Not at all what I was expecting... and I am blown away! This will test my skills too though. Thank you SO MUCH Wally! I'll try to make sure it comes out nice. :)
PS: It also had 2 sets of resin tractor trailer? Wheels and tires (in the right of the picture) in the box. Do you want them back? I don't think they fit this!
In reply to Saron81 :
Good luck with it. I picked it up at a show a few years ago. They were selling kits with some damaged pieces cheap. I don't have the skills to attempt it so I'm happy to pass it along. I forgot about the tires. If you don't mind mailing them back that would be great.
