For some people (not me) car buying isn't about something as rational as car "A" has a bit more room than car "B". For quite a few people, it's about owning the newest thing and/or the coolest thing. The 500 is a cute car, but if it's identified as a "chick car" or J-Lo's ride of choice....that could turn off a few customers. Waiting for the Abarth before projecting the idea / image that this car appeals to guys and girls (I'm guessing this is what the now former head of marketting person had in mind) was stupid.
