I am computer illiterate. This morning, Firefox did an update when I turned the computer on. Until yesterday, Google was my search engine. Apparently, it is now Yahoo. How do I change this back?

Click on the looking glass icon in the search box and then select "Change search settings" in the menu that drops down. That gives you a choice of search engines and the ability to set a different default one.

You click on the down-arrow to the left of your search provider icon to access this menu though, not the looking glass.

Both work for me, but I'm on a Mac...

Ah ok, the instructions I gave are for Windows. And I just checked, Linux is the same as MacOS.

its supposed to be an "added feature" to click on the search icon, then use one of the listed backup searches for a temporary alternative. (like wikipedia).

the next time you search after that, it will be your default search.

You'll need to log in to post.
