Be prepared.
1. Spray paint the windows white so you can claim a total snow in no matter what. 2. If she doesn't live there, she's not SWMBO, more like SWOSBCC (She Who's Opinion Should Be Carefully Considered)

Now the forecast doesn't even mention snow for Friday. See if I have any white paint left over from the MR2 I guess.

This morning was interesting......watched 4 people end up in the ditch on I-69 attempting to follow the "move over/slow down" law for emergency vehicles.

I'm not sure how much to expect where I am now. But my friend in DC sent me pics of the register lines at the Dulles Wegmans. Lines are halfway down the isle.

I can work with the snow. It's the freezing rain, ice, and sleet I friggin' hate.

Dad always said to strap a snowshovel of the roof and drive south until they think you're crazy, and stay there.

Here I am in Greenville. Forecasts have ranged from a dusting to 6 inches. Yesterday it snowed for 7 minutes. Church was cancelled, schools were closed.

Perfect.

Looks like that snow will lose steam south of us. I've had to do minimal plowing this year compared to last, and I'm ok with that. Last winter seemed to go on forever.

It's only been a couple for us here south of Macon, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again. It won't last long in any case.

We're just supposed to get an inch of cold-ass rain. no fun, but no big deal either.

Yesterday, it flurried for literally 5 minutes here in Atlanta and they sent schools home a half hour early and cancelled all evening practices.

you're in Atown? We should get a Georgia GRM meet together. SVRex, classicjackets, I know there are a bunch of others...

I'll always remember the first time I saw this IRL, I was coming into Detroit on a Sunday, sometime in December, with a snowmageddon grade storm following me (like 7" predicted). Stopped at some Meijer on the edge of the metro area because I needed some random stuff. You seriously couldn't buy bread, milk, or toilet paper. Plenty of beer on the shelf though. To prove this was some weird suburban white people thing, I then stopped at the Meijer on 8 mile rd. It was only half cleaned out, as predicted.

12" is looking pretty likely here in Carlisle. Hearing forecast models have been trending north over the past day or so which could put us into the real thick of the storm if all pans out - kinda right on the edge at the moment. Fingers crossed! Really want to see how the XJ would do busting through 2' drifts!

Expecting 6-12 inches tomorrow. People around here are losing their damned minds! Seriously, "institute disaster plan blah blah blah"? It's just some snow FFS, I probably won't even bother shoveling the driveway.

Only 4-8 predicted here... so naturally everything is already closed :)

Ice expected though, so I hope I don't lose power.

As I recall (been a while since I've driven a 4x4 in deep snow) the trick is to steer a little towards the center of the road just as you hit it, stay on the gas, that will put you through it straight, takes some practice.

Word of warning about drift busting. If the drift is longer than you thought it might have been you can find yourself in the unpleasant situation of riding up onto the snow. This results in becoming a pedestrian until rescue occurs. (my mother did just this on a country road back in the '80s driving a chevy 4x4 pickup, ended up spending a couple of days at a nearby farmhouse)

There's actually a pretty legit chance I'll get overzealous and do something stupid that strands the Jeep somewhere, if we really do get hit that hard. I'm going to go ahead and blame the tires now (they do really suck) just in case.
