Just took a lengthy trip, 500 miles, 50 mph average speed. Mixture of roads.
36.6 mpg. Had the "winter" tires on.
That is close to what I used to get with my SE.

I bought a '17 Fiesta ST last July because I wanted a fun, reliable and economic commuter, 27k miles later I still love that little car.
I regularly get 30-32ish on a mixed commute and running around town even with angry driving. I get about 35mpg on the freeway if I stay under 75mph and behave myself on entrance/exit ramps.
My Abarth is like that. Keep it below 50mph and I get low 40s mpg. Keep it below 70 and I stay low 30smpg. I have not taken any long trips in it yet, so I cannot say for certain.
My driving environment lends itself to good mileage, but I averaged 38mpg over 20k miles. I should have kept it!
Economy indicates vehicle size, not necessarily how much fuel it consumes on average.
My FoRS averaged around 24mpg on a nearly 800 mile round trip on Hwy 101.
I averaged 34 mpg last May on a trip from Virginia to Texas, Colorado, and back to Virginia. Average speed was high with lots of 70 and 75 mph Interstate. After one nine hour drive from Knoxville to LA, I felt fine. It's a fun little car that you can take on a long trip without too much trouble.
My 135i will knock down 28ish on the turnpike around 80mph.
But it's completely offset by the V8-like mileage it gets around town.
I average around 23 mpg, but I drive it as if every road is the Nordschleife. I haven't taken many long trips, but I can get it over 30 if I try...I rarely try.
Dang, not one of the cars in out fleet gets even 25mpg in daily use, part of that is because we mainly do in city driving, but still.
Current fleet:
