i know members here from Pittsburgh know about the flooding last week in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. i was a victim of that flooding my building was hit hard. it had almost 7' of water in it.
the cars that were stored there are heavily damaged and i lost a lot of tools also. the building itself substained damage to point it might be condemed.
i did not have flood insurance.
i will be selling the cars cheap. i am not going to try to hide anything about them. they were underwater. most were underwater for hours while others were under for a few days. i think if someone had the time and money these cars are worth saving.
Thats horrible! Is your family ok?
Very sorry to hear that. Best of luck with getting things straightened out for the better.
Oh man... very sorry to hear that. I have family in a flood area in NEPA that got hit a few years ago. It was a real mess and a long time in getting back to normal.
Electrically and mechanically the cars might be ok once dried out and drained - there isn't any salt water involved so it might not be such a horrible loss (aside from a ton of work) if you can get them clean and dry.
I'm glad it sounds like everyone was alright, but that's a shiatty way to start the summer :(
Damn that sucks hard. I know that if your average unprepared 4x4 is submerged, you remove the plugs and crank the water out, get the water out of the distributor, then change all fluids and they're usually OK...but that's for a simple vehicle with no electronics.

Rob if you can spare sometime that would be great. i said berkeley it this weekend everyone had plans for the Grand Prix this weekend and so did i. we are planning the weekend of the 27th to really go thru the cars. we did vac them out last weekend and opened everything up but did not try to start anything. the fluids seem good in a lot of them.
text me if you think you can make it. I am buying beer and food for everyone
Poop! That weekend is my wife's birthday. We are planning on visiting friends in Indianapolis. Any other time is good.
Are you still up here on the weekends only?

Mark,
Sorry to hear that. I emailed you about picking up the Honda engine. Did they get damaged also? If you are going to be working on the cars on Saturday, I could come to pick the engine up and also give you a hand for a while. Let me know.
Jim
Ouch, that's a hard hit. I hope it doesn't really do you in financially.

Jim,
got tired of them being in the way on the floor so we put the engines up on a shelf so they were high and dry. so i can arrange something for you to pick them up. i will email you. its only 10 minutes from where we met last time

Do you think it will fit in the trunk of my E46?
In reply to bravenrace:

in reply to pinchvalve:
i will email you that would be great if your willing to help pitch in.
Damn that sucks cutter . . Glad you and fam didn't get swept up . . .
If I was closer, I would gladly lend a hand. If you need any tools or anything, post up, I can ship you some of my stuff if it would help.
In reply to cutter67:
Do you need me to bring anything? I have lots of tools and equipment.
I'm three hours away and will be on-call starting the 27th, but if you need help the following weekend I might be able to lend a hand for a bit. Hopefully this hot, sunny weather (at least around SW Ohio) lately will help dry things out a bit and the damage to your facilities isn't too bad.
You should post a list of cars and let us -dorks help out trying to move them...
Stan
Man, sorry to hear of this.
