mtn, it was a LONG time ago. Some of the old timers on the board such as 914Driver probably know exactly who I am thinking of.

Exactly! One of the best way to approach a lot of these "arguments" is to try and help "the other side" prove their argument. Then do you best to remove the "sides". One of the basic truisms in this world, that I believe in at least, (notice how I didn't make it black and white?) is that almost all things are on a continuum and very few things lie at the extremes (e.g. ADD exists, but it is not an on or off switch, we all likely have a bit of ADD in us, its a matter of how much). There are many who will do there best to make you believe this is not the case, please do not listen to them. I think if MGuar is in anyway feeling he has slighted the board, he should start a thread with a full story and explanation of this: That will gain you HUGE points on this board!

Haha, I knew him (through auto-x). He was actually a really funny guy and very easy to get along with in person, but every time he got on here it was facepalm city. Some people turn just plain not normal when they go online.

Lemme tell ya, nobody here comes close to the ex-patriot Brit that used to haunt the British car forums, especially Spitfires. He would be the King of all trolls.

I remember that Canadian guy, we would've been happy to disown him. Major chip on the shoulder. Then there was that dude that seemed to be my own personal troll... left pissy comments after all my posts. Dunno what happened to him, boohoo...

I honestly can't remember his username. His real name was Josh... Geez, this would have been back in 2004 or so. I think he may have been the first high profile troll to get banhammered from here, the (old!) board was pretty new then.

Maybe its just me, but I think this may give some insight into what caused this thread. caution language

The internet is a strange beast. Most of my friends are the nicest people ever in person, but if you venture to my little corner of space, you'd find how we treat each other on the internet. Personally, I do one of two things. A- ignore the hell out of them and continue on my way, or B- troll em right back. Depends on my mood mostly.

That being said, this is DEFINITELY the most civilized board I've ever frequented.

Ah, yes. "You-Know-Who" or "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named." Actually admitted to being a troll once, and still stayed around another year or two before he got troll-whacked.

I once had a 3 hour argument over whether or not Kool Aid man wore pants. This was before smartphones, so I couldn't google it and I was at work. I ended up both winning AND losing it. (he got pants sometime in the late 80's early 90's).
