Some berkeleystick either shot at my wife with a BB/pellet gun, or threw a rock, breaking this window, thankfully, the right rear.
Is it possible to identify the projectile, or at least rule out some, by this pic? My thought is, a BB might leave a more uniform, round mark, but idk. She didn't see anyone, leading me to suspect BB/pellet.

Could be about anything small. My brother did that to one of our cars growing up knocking a rock up with a lawnmower.

I think often folks wrongly think because it's a side window it can't be rock.
I remember when I was a kid a girlfriend's stepdad swore that someone threw a rock at his car while driving through a rock cut KNOWN FOR ROCKFALLS. He even had dents on the side of the car where other rocks had hit it. It was a rock fall dude, not a malicious pedestrian dressed in camo walking up a busy road at 1AM in the morning.
Is that new damage to the rubber seal below as well? Looks like something irregular, like a rock.

I didn't notice the seal when I looked at the pic on my phone, but now that I'm on a computer, yeah, that could be new damage. And I'm now learning that she was driving under a 150-foot-high, six-lane bridge, so it could have come from above.
I would say a rock. A bullet or BB would be a more concentric center.
I had a pebble from a riding mower hit me in the eyebrow, thing was 300 ft. away.
