I couldn't imagine a better group to grow old with. When my time comes, I hope that someone here hosts a virtual funeral for me. Or at least drinks a real whisky in my memory.
And I am happy to corrupt you, 1988RedT2, with my political views whenever you need it.
Edit: still a Superdork. Darn.
Yep, this is a knowledgeable gang of misfits. I learn a bunch just by lurking and there's some really funny E36 M3 that pops up too.
My favorite is all the random, non-car stuff that can be answered by this group.
Other than that, you guys are gaying up the place with all this niceness.
You guys are great, even if you all sometimes do get a annoying hankering for seafood.

Hey, we function better than Congress....
Awesome, this is a new verb. Instead of 'googling' something we will 'GRM' it.

Hear Hear!
I came for the knowledge and stayed for the wit.
My wife will ask, "Did you learn that on Grassroots?"
We all just kick ass here at GRM, lets just get used to it

TL;DR: I couldn't get the fancy e-thing to work, but read the column in the dead tree version.

Can somebody remind me how to view the digital version? I already re-gifted mine to one of the kids at school, and hadn't read the column.
Joey, click "Go Digital" in the left-hand column on this page.

Thanks for trying to help. I guess I'm not tech savvy enough to get it working. OTOH, a new paper issue of GRM just showed up in my mailbox today!! (....and it was the one everybody was talking about!) I gave away the last issue, and thought you were talking about something in it.

I come here for the comfort of knowing that no matter how weird my car thing becomes at least one of you is further down the dark hole. Knowing this makes me feel a bit more normaler.........
Just out of curiosity does anybody else live in the false belief that there is the perfect combinations of cars to make you happy?

shifting goalposts: it is always "when this one is done" even though I have ideas and parts already in hand for the next build

I almost forgot to mention: it was a great column....it gave the outsider a glimpse of how tight knit this group is. Tim didn't use the best example that I know of: Svrex putting forum members into his will:

I remember when I first saw the magazine. I was flying from my first duty station to my folks house. I remember perusing the magazine shop at the airport (Denver maybe?). I saw the issue that had Adam Carolla and his Datsun on the front. I ended up buying it and still have it around somewhere.
When I last deployed, I got really interested in Miatas. I ended up buying every issue that has Miata stuff in it. And then some. It was like 20 issues. The guy who packed my order hand wrote a thank you note and threw in a whole stack of GRM bumper stickers. When I got back to the states, I bought a 10 year subscription.
I wish I could be more involved in the GRM community though. I just "know" some of you from the message board. I wish I could hang out with you guys in real life haha.
The community here is second to none.

This morning I am moved to credit all the forum members and show my appreciation for all you do--the wisdom you impart and the laughter and reflection that you provoke. This in spite of your glaring intellectual handicap, your propensity toward obesity and slovenliness, and your Communist political leanings. I hold each and every one of you dear. Thank you!
This is a post I've written in various forms, usually while completely tanked, and always deleted with the plan to re-type when sober...
