Well, after returning from deployment, finding a place to live and having all my furniture delivered, I finally have some time to play armchair racer. I bought my buddies 52" HDTV, which is huge to me (coming from a 27" CRT flatscreen circa 2002). I found the box with the 360 and games in it. One quick drive to Gamestop and I now have Forza 4 and Dirt 3 in my possession.
Wow.
I've wasted two whole days sitting in front of the TV and not unpacking hahahaha.
Why can't us 360 guys have a decent wheel? I own a PS3 as well and would love to buy a Logitech G27 (or G25 for that matter) but why am I stuck with the damn Micro$oft wheel? Using the controller is like virtual reality sex. It works but you don't get the full experience. Do you guys have any GRM solutions? What's your Forza setup?
P.S. Autovista is the best time waster of all time.
This is my build thread. Doesn't help you about the MS wheel though.

I have a cheapo Madcat wheel. Works okay. The pedals slip and slid around if you don't nail 'em down. My problem is after an hour or so, my knees seize up and I have to switch back to the controller. I need to build a gamer seat with proper angles for the pedals and wheel. Hopfully, that'll solve the locked up knees problem. It was about a hundred bucks from Gamestop. It's NOT the wireless model.
Holy crap that's cool!
I was looking at ready-made setups but I'm not feeling the $300-$500 price tag. Plus, that's just not how we do things around GRM.
I have the Fanatec wheel, and it's really just a waste of money until I get a proper way to mount it up. It's just collecting dust right now. Clamped to the coffee table, I was always about two seconds a lap slower than with a controller anyways.

Dude....you could use an old Atari 2600 joystick and STILL show us all your tail lights! Two seconds? Wiggle the knife a little harder will ya LOL!
I really prefer the controller over a wheel. Just not my style. I do pretty decent, might I add.

I am Fried Green Corrado, and I approve this message.
No hate, RF..just friendly jealousy! And the rest of y'all should see the man. So fast, but so clean! That's tough to do in the virtual world..
I should get a second job as a lawnmower because I spend a lot of time murdering grass...
P.S. A turbo 5.4L Pinto on stock tires is a great idea! It's even root beer brown :)

Just imagine it sliding down the road on it's top and you have the idea...

Which Fanatec components do you have? I figure if my MS wheel breaks I have no choice but to step up to one of those. Is it PC compatible?
Yeah, it's the one that's good for XBox, Pc, and PS3. I didn't get the shifter, but I did get the good pedals. If you were at the $2011 challenge, I got a set-up just like Scott had there Friday night.
I use a controller all the time, because if I'm going to spend several hundred dollars on a steering wheel and pedals, it's going to be for my real car.
