One would think, having horses around and a room full of leather tack, that I would steal what SWMBO uses on a $7k saddle to treat my leather seats. For years that wasn't the case. That changed today. HOLY CRAP.
Per her suggestion this is what I used: http://www.doversaddlery.com/effax-leder-balsam/p/X1-31118/
It's pretty solid in the jar, but when your hand touches it the heat melts the waxes and lanolin so it turns into a thing oil-wax stuff. I applied it with gloves and then buffed it with a towel and my seats never felt so nice.
It's a little greasy, so I did go back and buff it off a second time just to make sure there wasn't any residue left. Very happy with the results. The Miata sees a ton of top-down time and the leather gets worked over from all the sun and stuff.
I will have to give it a try
Just to throw it out there, I have been using this stuff for years: http://www.drmartens.com/us/Shoe-Care-%252526-Laces/WONDER-BALSAM/p/AC025001

With car and furniture leather, I've never really had that great of results with anything. The Dr Marten's stuff has been great on my shoes, but I never really gave much thought to put it on anything else.
Do you have any before/after shots? My usual leather seat in the living room needs some love that lexol hasn't delivered.

another great brand to try is Leatherique. My co-worker put some on a Benz that was parked in the Las Vegas sun for 10+ years, and the stuff returned the leather to a like-new condition.

I thought about before and after photos, but the car was positioned in a way that the photo would be backlit and useless.
