i just pulled up to my 2nd job at night at a rib place driving and there was a sigh saying we are closing at the end of the month...now i have to look for the 4th job of the year.
in march i lost my delvery job for domino's cause the onwer was forced out of buniuess, then i get hired for papa john's though the end of may when i quit for more hours at dominos of a different town and they did not like me working two places in the same town, i also got a job at btothers ribs doing delev in may and now that owner is closing down...sigh...this really sucks....
but on a bright note the rc and hobby show in chi-town was really cool and my nefu really liked it and lots of fun. he is 8. i also took a nfreind and his 14 year old son they also had fun.
i also did buy a new car this past weekend too...pics coing this weekend and details....

Ouch... I know all my friends in the area are having hard times finding jobs around the LC--nobody is hiring for anything it seems.
lots of people off around here also.
Don't feel bad, I'm on my 3rd different "professional" job in last 11 months.
Albeit these have been by choice though.
howies - moved to MI, marco's - closed for back taxes, marino's - car died and they didn't hold job... no big loss the delivery area sucked, and lastly domino's ... and thats just so far this year... need to find another job SOON... depressing to think about... at least i'm in a bigger city... i might be able to find a semi decent job...
sad thing is this isn't my worst year as far as w2's lol...

Yep... Grayslake is the LC, last I checked... I'm in Libertyville (or was until college started), and my friends are all having hard times finding jobs. I know at least 2 couldn't play hockey this year because they couldn't find jobs.

I trust you are in school and these jobs are just to get you by until you graduate?
I am in manufacturing and the jobs are slim in this field some days. If I had to do it again, I would look into that medical field.

Between the 60 hour weeks at work and trying to spend time with the kids I am still trying to figure out how to put school in the schedule.
I need a similar (or better) paying night job.

I'm a machine operator working the night shift 65-70+ hour a week. I wouldn't mind finding the time to go back to school to learn how to be an operator in one of the refineries in the area.

Welcome to the "New Economy."
I do consulting work. It is rare that I am at one place more than 6 months. My current gig is over at the end of the year. It's time to start prospecting for another one.
right now this is my life, college is just for fun right now, i have no clue what to even due for that. i just take classes each semster that sound neat or look good for adding to a job somehow.
the good news is i just submitted two resumes this afternoon on a website.
the bad news is i might have to sell my two of my other cars at this rate...
my rambler might have to go and heven forbid i might have to get rid of my challange car, but only as a last resort for that..sigh....

I would take a hard look at what you want to do as a career. Be careful taking classes randomly and what "just sounds fun". You should either take school very seriously and actively work towards the major you want, or you should not go. Taking random classes and not working towards anything in particular is a waste of money. I hope I'm not coming off as an shiny happy person, I've just had a lot of friends run into trouble with this sort of thing. Goodluck.
as for the career thing...i have triing since high school to figure that out..i still have not...meybe by the time i retire i might figure that out. besides, a couple of the ramdom classes have been given ideas to start my own buiness, just have to get some clients for photos...sigh...
i am tring a photography buiness right now.
the other thing is i like to keep busy with learning new things thats why i keep taking classes. its never a waste of money, if you learn something its always good.
