Free Windows 10???

I bought my laptop years ago with Windows 7. Don't have a registration key. Am I boned for the free updates? Its a slow, cantankerous son of a bitch right now, and I just want it to work properly again.

It should be on the windows tag on the bottom of your laptop, unless it has been removed.

If you have a legal Win7 that's activated, you have a registration key.

I'll check the bottom when i get home. If I don't have a sticker, ill figure out what to do next.

Also, I never got the little icon. What link do I click to download once I find the key?

If you don't get a notification to upgrade in Windows Update, you have to download the .ISO (links on previous page), burn/write it and run the upgrade from the install disc/drive.

Already installed it last night. Went quick and easy. You can tell that this is the first time in a while that they cleaned up and downsized the OS. It just seems like it is a lot better at utilizing resources. So far I like it.

I'm tempted to throw Win10 on my old Mac Mini with Boot Camp. Apparently OSX hobbles the crap out of the GMA 950 video chip, but Windows lets the chip run at full power. I just want my HTPC to stream 1080p without stuttering.
