I fothermucking hate the drive going up I-85 to 94 north. Any construction slowdowns on 81 north?
Not cutting straight over just after getting into Pennsylvania. Its actually a little faster than going through dc and baltimore
Mapquest says under current traffic 9 hrs 5 min taking 77 to 81 to 76. taking 85 to 95 in current traffic is 10 hr 21 minutes
I hate the period right before going on a trip where you have to check and double check that everything you need is packed. I should be in bed
Please report back on road conditions for I77 and I81; I'm planning on making that trip in a few weeks.
Mostly, I'm curious how the harsh winter contributed to pothole development.

Definately, not a problem
I made the drive up/down I-77 out of Charlotte to Pittsburgh over Easter. I-77 traffic is always horrible, but didn't have any backups. The road surface where 77 and 81 merge in Wythville,VA was atrocious to say the least. Much pothole. I stayed north on 77 to head towards the 'burgh, so I can't really comment on 81 north of Wythville. Be safe.
81 was fairly good the harsh winter seems not to have affected it to bad 76 was rough as hell though

Thanks for the heads up.
I'll be using 76 but only from Breezewood to Bedford and then up 99. I99 is "relatively" new and doesn't see much heavy traffic so I'm thinking its' still pretty smooth.
Just got back about 7 this evening this evening, 1505 miles over four days which includes 12 almost solid hrs in a car with a 4 yr old, a 10 yr old and an 18 yr old friday and today. I was frazzled when I got home, and dead ass tired but still keyed up from the drive.
