I recently discovered one of our local towers is selling used cars that they've acquired title to.

In the mix is:

1980 E70 Toyota Corolla Coupe - No Window No Interior but low on rust. Running.

E28 530i  - Trash interior but not too bad on rust. Not running.

95 Impreza AWD Sedan in white - interior trashed but running.

Owner said he'd probably sell all of the above for $1000.

I'm inquiring about a non-start not-jumping no-dashlight newer Prius, but the other seems like fun cheap projects.

Twice a year our local tow company does a auction... Normally $200 a car 30-40 cars go through. Impound lot cars live a hard ass life.

I went to look at a 323 GTX in an impound yard about 10 years ago. Could have picked it up for next to nothing. I have regrets.

Yea I could probably the Corolla for a few hundred bucks, but it needs glass everywhere, has no interior and I need a daily driver that can haul a kiddo around.

I'm in Arizona BTW. If someone is interested in these, I could buy them and resell to ya.

That Impreza could probably be flipped for far more in Colorado or Oregon, but someone is probably thinking that too.

That Toyota gives me ideas, but I'm literally half the nation away.

I got one of My locost 7 donor Miata's from a tow lot.  Girl spun it in St  Louis into a highway median.  $500 for a running 96 M edition miata was a good buy in my mind.  Still need to get a good diff cover since the ear broke off in the normal location.

A corolla with no glass or interior sounds like the perfect start to a race car.

Tow yards can be great places to buy cars for cheap. I bought my Galant VR4 from one back in 2000. Clean stock car that had been abandoned due to a broken transmission. I picked it up for $750, had it back on the road for well under $1000.
