Nearly 40 of them, tell me quick!
in college, we:
-walled the RA in his room
-built furniture in the common room
-made them into a "christmas tree"
there were some others, but i can't remember.

Dweeb, Use them like a MAN, they make decent bullit backstops. Soak 'em in water. And then use them to compare penetration
Don't forget expansion and penetration, SoloSonett. They're great for that. I didn't know there were other uses for old phone books. Hey, we can keep poopshovel and 93celicaGT2 happy if we used incindiary ammo. This could be win-win.

I like your thinking

Nah, too wimpy. Soak them in kerosene and use tracers.
Edit: Rats, Dr. Hess and amaff beat me to it.

"Dragon's Tail" rounds FTMFW!
Can't recycle them, and the janitor collected them up behind my back, dammit. Nice ideas though. I like the kerosene soaked books w/ tracers especially. There weren't enough for a fort or anything, maybe a small fone henge would have been possible, LOL

That's usually my first suggestion for situations like this one, but it sounded like we didn't have enough phonebooks. A jump would be my second choice. Forts are cool.
so the consensus is:
knock out janitor and steal them back, soak in kerosene, build a fone henge around a christmas tree and shoot them.
i love this place.
i like the target idea. They tend to make lots of confetti when shot with 30-06 rounds... not that i should know....
I always use them as bases to drill on since I don't have like... a press or bench or whatever
I guess you only need to keep 1 or 2 around for that though
