GM car with the fuel filler behind a spring loaded license plate holder.  Because of body modifications, the fill hole is recessed inside a small square, about 3" below the surface.  You may be able to get a filler hose in there, but it doesn't look easy or drip free.

The easy answer is a tube with a female gas cap thread on one end and a male on the other, screw it in, done.  Plan B:  Cut the tube and splice in 3" of tank filler tube rubber material (by the foot at NAPA)

Trust me, this will look better when complete.

I think plan B has a much better chance of being leak free. The lower threaded part of plan A sounds less reliable than a hose clamp.

I like Plan B better. Just do not forget Plan C.. it looks like Plan A, but with more running away
