I received a gift card for Amazon wasn't sure what to get the bots suggested a gel blaster. Took me to one that was $25. Are the cheap ones a couple uses and chuck? Thought it might be a cheap toy to shoot targets with my kids inside.

Foam darts? Granted they are not normally used for static target practice.
It's not $25 or sold by Amazon, but this would typically put about 3/5 darts on a foot-square target at 25ft. Actual range is obviously a lot more but there are always some really annoying wild fliers.

Sleeping very soundly on a Friday morning, I was dreaming I was Al Capone...
My oldest boy got a SAW replica. I taught him about controlled bursts and to ensure he was announcing "get some". Now, my 3yo daughter does it when she uses the gun.
(no ammo in the gun, they just like hearing the thing fire)

Oddly enough, I just went to a Krampus themed haunted house this weekend that utilized gel guns.
I'm assuming some of them are serious bits of kit, as the scare actors were wearing face and chest protectors
Man they leave a mess even outside. This fall we went to picnic on a field where there had been some youth event with those and it was a mess weeks after. Granted, this was like a 40 kid event and I don't know if it had rained after.
These are different from paintball guns, I assume? I realize this thread was probably canoed TTT, but I've never heard of them.

That, sir, is no potato gun. A real potato gun employs a length of PVC pipe, some fittings, a piezo gas grill igniter, hairspray, and a potato.
And it is far from harmless.

My favorite potato gun story:
Back in the mid '90s, at the height of the pre-Hoosier R-comp tire wars in SCCA Solo, BFG and yokohama were the two big players, and they'd show up to Solo Nats with their big service rigs and shave and mount tires all week. One year, the techs on both sides brought some really well-engineered PVC potato cannons that they would load up with balls of tire shavings and fire across the field to the opposing truck.
The balls of BFG rubber would impact the side of the Yokohama truck and bounce off. The Yokohama balls would stick to the side of the BFG truck. Unsurprisingly, Yokohama dominated trophy counts that year as well.
