I've now seen two of these in the wild.
My eyes hurt.
I still say a little lower at the back of a longer hood and the front clip would look great on something new and fast, or maybe even on an FRS.
As for the Prius? KILL IT WITH FIRE
It was as bland as you could possibly get before, so I don't think it's that bad. Not attractive, but not bad.
I think they parked the old Prius in front of a funhouse mirror and traced the wacky reflection to come up with this.
A bit Batman-esque for my tastes. But then again a few years ago, everyone and their mother was roasting Toyota for having cars with bland styling. Now we're roasting them for cars that we don't like their styling.
I think it's kind of cool.
All the new Lexus are batwing ugly. This seems to be using a little of that mojo, but in a decent way.
The really stupid part about the new (ridiculously ugly, even worse than a Pacer) 16+ Prius, is that Toyota already designed a nice one!!!
It's called the Prius Prime:
The rear especially is a huge improvement. Why didn't they make them all like this to start? It's "edgy" without being hideous.
I saw a new one in red last week on my commute. What a repulsive, disgusting eye stabber from every single angle. It looks like a half-hatched alien egg in the front, and a car from the game Ridge Racer on the original Playstation that glitched out and froze with polygons going everywhere in the back.
Maybe so, but I bet a lot of Prius drivers take pride in having an ugly car. They are a strange lot. Funny Prius story, we recently had a new Whole Foods open, and the opening day the parking lot looked like a Prius convention. I know its a stereotype, but there must have been 50 there.
THose are bad, but the new civic is worse.
I mean, the Prius is expected to be awkward and weird. The civic is supposed to be mainstream.
More is better right?
I recently noticed the Civic also, yes, too much.
There does seem to be some sort of sharp angular trend going on. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I thought it worked for the GS F, but from the front, man, OK, turn it down a bit!
The white car actually tones it down a bit. We've got a couple in our parking garage and they are even busier-looking in person.

Thank you. I honestly cringe every time I see something by Nissan/Infiniti. The SUV's are particularly hideous, in a bulbous, bloated sort of way. No other company is currently producing as consistently ugly a lineup as Nissan.

You guys are correct about Nissan. Man, they really forgot how to design cars. I was sitting at a light earlier today and saw a last gen Altima, probably a 2013 or 2014. It looked like a melted mess of shapes and curves, and it was riding on poverty spec 15" steelies with hubcaps. For some reason, the wheels looked like they were extra, extra small on the car. Kinda like this, but, you know, not photoshopped:
In reply to Javelin:
I disagree. I think it's awful. But of course, styling is 100% subjective.
Styling alone will keep me out of Toyota / Lexus dealerships until further notice.
I saw a new Prius for the first time a couple of weeks ago and thought the designers really went nuts on the front and rear ends. The rear end certainly looks "car of the future" IMHO.
