In a former life, I was a civil war reenactor. I participated in the 135th gettysburg reenactment, but the 150th going on now is insane.. When we did the 135th, we had enough people to do a full strength pickett's charge. Crazy to see 15k+ people marching across a field towards you. Just impressive.

Anyone going? or have good pictures?
I'll be there in about two hours. If I can get through the crowds and chaos.
Well, I went, I tried, I left.
Gridlock. The busses they were using to ferry people were stuck in traffic, so there was no getting to the reenactment of the battles.
Two or three stages of bussing necessary to go anywhere. One but from the satelite parking to the park headquarters, and either one or two more busses to get out to the reenactments (explanations of bussing varied, depending on who was giving instructions).
$40 per person, per day to see the reenactment. God awful expensive.
The battles all were taking place on the north end of town, on some private farm. No reenactments were happening on the battlegrounds themselves. Though those were crowded as well.
All in all, not worth the effort.
Wow. Sorry you had a bad experience.
The park service won't allow reenactment on the actual battlefield, anywhere. I got a story about that. I'll type later.
Avoided it like the plague. Gettysburg sucks to drive through on a normal day.
Then stir into the mix someone stealing a car and crashing it into a building on Wednesday, and it's an even bigger debacle. Link to story
Will go in October when its scaryYyYyyY OOooOOoooo

Sir William Kent stole a car and crashed it into a building at Gettysburg?
