I know your pain. First autocross of the year was sunny until I pulled up to the line. Then it snowed.
We got an unplanned reprieve today. My region was supposed to run down in Dover, DE, but the timing truck had (apparently) a catastrophic failure that postponed the event.

Same storm system. I run with Philly a few times a year (Dover and DP), but this event conflicted with our local club's season opener. We should meet up at an event some time.
I really thought this storm system was going to cut us some slack when it didn't rain at all yesterday. Such is life, I suppose.

Same here, was really disappointed but it is what it is. Guess a hydraulic line gave up its life taking out Powersteering and brakes....
So freaking cold this morning at 8:00 a.m., I had my winter coat on. First run of the season, in a friend's 1M, I did a 360 on cold tires. Fun. Ate a few cones later, but had a great day.
Had a really nice day autocrossing yesterday, cold cold cold and wet today.
I did discover that I can squeeze into the miata with the hardtop on while wearing a helmet though.
Had a friend drive it today, I think I need new brake pads. They were right.. the pedal is awfully low. (low enough that I cannot heel toe with the FM pedal extension)
It was so so hot. Not as hot as its going to get, but hotter than I like it to be. I need a cool shirt for corner working.
just glorious weather.. we are not supposed to get snow down here at the shore.. but it has been pouring all day. I did two 16 hour work days back to back with only 5 hours of sleep between them. I got woken up by the rain this morning when it started coming in through the window in the bedroom
I was registered for Dover too - hope to make the reschedule but not heartbroken to spend the day warm and dry.

I may see all of you guys in Warminster May 6th - Look for the oldest Ford in the lot.
I saw a good turnout of GRM stickers at the Dover RallyX last summer too.
Snow in the forecast for State College tomorrow. Ugh.
I have been telling people for a while that we were going to pay for having highs in the plus 26 degrees C range in March.
We had 6 inches of snow on Friday and we are supposed to get 6 more tomorrow. Where was this in January???

Details on this May 6th action? I'd like to get something in this season, but I'm missing all of June, July and August.
Warminster is up in PA, above Philly, at an old airport. About a 90 minute drive from here. It's a Philly region SCCA event. Admittedly I have never been there, but the Philly guys are pretty cool. They will have an instructor available and they do a novice course walk.
Philly Region is doing a Novice School at Warminster next weekend the 29th. That might be worth looking into - preregistration is probably open now. However that tends to be a day-and-a-half: classroom session on Saturday afternoon, seat time all day Sunday. I don't know for sure if that's the program for this school, but it's typical. The Novice Schools are very helpful.
I'm also hoping the BMC/PCA event we missed today is just postponed and not cancelled. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
I'll probably miss the event on the 6th for a couple of reasons. One, we'll lose much of next weekend working on my late friend's MINI for his g/f. Two, I drove the E30 yesterday and something in the drive line started making unpleasant noises. I'm really sick of this car being constantly broken. So far I've yet to make it past one event before something breaks again... I'm hoping its something simple like the center support bearing and not the transmission.
If there are any GRMers going to the May 6th event, let me know. I fully expect to be really slow, and I'm pretty sure my Miata will generally look sloppy, but if some of you loons will be there it'll probably worth the drive.
You'll need to log in to post.
