I'm going to Boston tonight through Tuesday for a nice little get-away with my wife. I've never been there before and neither has she. Are there any must-do pr must-sees?

I grew up just outside of Boston and lived there until my mid 20s...I'll probably be back someday, it is a great place.

Are you going to be in town or staying out in the suburbs? There is SOOOO much to do in the area.

I agree with the freedom trail and faneuil hall suggestions. The science museum and aquareum are also world class, and a duckboat ride is a great way to see and learn a lot in a few hours, and the view from the Charles River basin is great. Make sure to drive up Memorial drive heading east and then back down Storrow drive the other way for a great view.

The Larz Anderson Museum is always a good take, and if you are around on Sunday this German car day is a great take. I have been for several events, most notably Japanese Car,and Motorcycle day,and Miata day. Brookline is a suburb of Boston, and really isn't far away. As a matter of fact you can see the city from atop the hill on the museum grounds. A remarkable view actually.

Prudential center observatory, you can see most of Boston here.

Freedom trail for sure, will take a day with lots of walking and will pass by most historic sights

Drive over the Mass ave bridge between Boston and Cambridge and see the Charles river.

Duck tour is another must do.

Boston Public Garden for a tour and swan boat ride

JFK museum, if you are into that type of thing

Martha's vineyard if you have a couple of days

Boston Symphony Hall for a concert

Town of Salem, lots of witchy stuff here

George's Island, see an old fort, will take a whole day

Newport Mansions, if you don't mind the drive down there.

Spent the month of March there for work this year...Boston is a great town!

A great place to eat is the KO Prime steakhouse at the 9-Zero Hotel (hint: Short Rib Mac & Cheese and 33oz Tomahawk Ribeye). 90 Tremont Street, right near the Commons. Good beer at Beantown Pub right next door too!

Sam Adams beer is craptastic. I'd only go on their tour if I could slap Sam Adams for appearing on my TV and bragging about his E36 M3ty beer.

CB- thanks for the offer, my wife's brother and wife live in Waltham, so we are staying with them and I don't think we are going to be leaving the greater Boston area at this time. However, we are beer folks and like to go to the breweries. Sam Adams is on the possible list, as well as boston beer works and Harpoon. So if you know any other places I would like to put them on the list. Looks like we are going to be there Aug 7-10, so just a quick trip. Blue Man Group is going to be Saturday night.
