Looks like I'll be up in Chicago in 2 weeks for a few days of training. I'll be there from Sun-Tues time frame.
I'll really only have two evenings and some time on Sunday to check anything out.
So knowing I won't be able to see much, any suggestions for a cool place to get a bite to eat, or grab a tasty adult beverage?
Then that Tuesday it looks like I'll be flying to San Diego from Tues-Sun for more training, but staying behind a few extra days with the wife.
Suggestions of stuff to see/do there? I know the Zoo and stuff like that, something the touristy web sites aren't going to tell me about.
Thanks!
What area will you be staying at in Chicago?
Looks like the training facility is on the other side of I-294 from "Rand Park" if that means anything to you....about 4 miles northeast of O'hare. Looks like the address has the building in "Park City"
So I'll try to get a hotel in the area as well. I will also have a rental car.

Park City is a trailer park that is about halfway to Milwaukee. I'd double check that.
Rand Park, as in Des Plaines? My favorite Pizza is there. Chicago style thin crust at a place with crappy service, but excellent thin crust pizza. Place is called Romano's, spelling could be wrong.
EDIT: http://www.romanosrestaurant.net/Oakton.htm
I'm very familiar with a few area's surrounding Des Plaines, so I'll try to think of more things. You're only a short Metra ride to the City, countless stuff to do there.

Oh, and if it is Des Plaines, they also have the best pancakes I've found yet. Gail's Carriage Inn on Rt 83/Elmhurst Road.
Sorry, meant "Park Ridge"

Ah, I should have made that assumption on my own. Park Ridge is right next to Des Plaines; my cousins live there and my dad grew up there.
