This morning I got on a crowded train to go to work in San Francisco. I stepped on behind a young pregnant woman with two small children in tow. There were no seats available. Two stylish young hipsters looked up from their phones, stood up and gave their seats to the woman and her kids. The kids who looked to be 3 and 5 were quiet and calm for most of the trip. After about 20 minutes they got a little frigidity. Mom spoke to them quietly and they settled right back down.
We all seem like to complain and find evidence that society is falling apart. This was a reminder that even in the big city, people are often courteous to each other and kids are well behaved.
What good behavior have you seen this week?
The soccer team I play on didn't get a single fight or yell at the ref more then once in our game last night. Does that count?
I've noticed that people in the big city are MORE courteous than in the suburbs. YMMV.
Then there are the times when you offer up a seat to a woman who isn't actually pregnant
