I went with my Dad to the Good Guys event in Charlotte this past weekend. He won "Best Shoebox" with his '49 Ford:

This was interesting-the sign said it was an '05 Mustang reskinned with sheetmetal from a classic Ford:

I really liked the satin-orange color and style of this truck:

Not a lot of "GRM" style cars, but the Auto X was fun to watch- lots of over-the-top horsepower cars trying to negotiate a pretty tight course. One Camaro had some yellow paint and a smashed front corner that I am guessing came from one of the cement safety barriers. The course did not have the same safe runoff areas that I am used to seeing on Auto X courses.

A good day with Pop. My wife says I came by the "car bug" honestly.

I love watching older, tire-melting iron at autocrosses. Sounds like they could use some course design coaching though. Whatever, sounds like a good time was had by all (maybe except that Camaro guy )

Regarding the '50 Ford Mustang--

Seems like the dudes who build these often miss the mark on wheels and stance (as this guy did). Wheels need to be bigger, lower offset by a bit and car needs to go lower.

Visually, it would offset the huge front bumper, too. All that work into sheetmetal and it gets cheapened by the wheel/tire/ride height combo. (IMHO)

That orange truck is PERFECT, though. That's what a Goodguys car should look like.
