As of yesterday morning, when I asked my girlfriend of 10 years to marry me, and she said yes.
We have finally settled in to our new home in Sparks, NV after a cross country drive from Medina, OH. I convinced her (luckily it didn't take much) that we should wake up early to watch the sun rise over the salt flats. As the sun was cresting, I told her how awesome she was and proposed.

We met in middle school, she was dating a friend of mine at the time. Said friend ended up in the drugs and booze, and after they broke it off, we ended up together. Our first date was to go see Jeepers Creepers 2 on August 30, 2003.
She is still my best friend, and I can't imagine life without her.

So THAT'S why you said you wanted to stop at the salt flats
Congrats. It was good meeting the two of you a few days ago.

Wow, so cool! Congratulations! I only regret that we didn't meet when you were living only about a half hour away from me!
Loving the fact that the picture of the car is posted first.

Yeah, I'd had that little bit planned for about a month or so. It was raining like crazy in SLC the night before, so I was starting to get pretty disheartened about not being able to go out on the salt. By the time we got to Bonneville, though, it was obvious that it hadn't rained there, so we drove about a mile out into the salt. It was really cool to see, and to think about all the history that has taken place there. (I had very similar feelings of history when I went to Sebring, Daytona and Indianapolis).
Thanks for showing us around Grand Junction. It was a great time. Elvis was berkeleying amazing.

I couldn't forget where I was posting...
We spent a week in that car with our 4 year old Basset hound. We were glad to be out of the car by the time we rolled into Sparks. Coupled with the fact that it only managed about 24 miles to the gallon over the 2434 miles we traveled, and it is a boring slushbox, I've grown to hate that car.

She looks shockingly like an ex of mine. Hopefully your version does you better than mine did (I have the scars to prove it). In any event, congrats and whatever!
GIRLFRIEND STEALER! I thought WE were best friends!!!
Congrats bud. Easy on the whiskey-throttle.
The only thing that could've made this even more epic is if there was a free Mazdaspeed Miata shell ratchet strapped to the top of the Mazda3.

Strangely, I've lived in 3 apartments in the last three years, and all three of them were less than 40 minutes from Summit Racing retail locations.
