Mid-day on Friday I looked at my calendar for the rest of the summer and into the fall, checked the weather and then called home to tell The Wife that we were making our annual trip to Hersheypark this weekend. We've gone 5 of the last 6 summers, and this was the best trip yet. Loaded up Sat morning and got there early afternoon after a 5 hour drive. Wife called her sister who lives an hour away and they were actually close by for a softball tourney so they were able to meet us for dinner. Then into the park for the preview portion of the weekend - tickets to Hersheypark include 3-3.5 hours (depending on operating hours that day) the night before. Stayed at the park until close at 11. Back into the park by 11 for 8 more hours of hot fun before we grabbed a bite and hit the road home. The kids, 10 and 12, decided to be brave this year, and we rode every coaster in the park over the 2 days except for Farenheit with its 98* inverted drop on the first hill. It made for a very fun weekend hearing and watching their reactions to the new, big coaster experiences.
We just rolled into home at 2am and the redbull for the road is still working Tomorrow will be a long day. Maybe next year I'll drag them through the AACA museum.
