OK, SWMBO has been hinting that I get a part time job, I've been hinting I need another project. A draw for a while, then I saw a job other than auto detailing or landscaping. I would escort non-cleared persons to their meeting place, either wait or go back, then escort them out.
Just waiting on my DOD clearance to convert to DOE, it's like starting over! Imagine my surprise one Gov't Org not recognizing another. Same FBI will search records and talk to people, same ones that did my previous clearance. I'm only going to do 2 days a week but $22/hr ain't landscaping money. =~ )
I just got volun-ordered to be what in effect is a union boss yesterday so that's fun.

I'm confused? What more exactly does this job entail? Who are non-cleared persons? Illegal aliens? Visitors without vias? You don't live at a US border or a busy international airport so where are you meeting these people?

I'm going to guess that it's the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. The non-cleared people would be visitors without the required security clearance to access parts of the facility unescorted. They don't let just anybody wander around DOE facilities.

Interesting! I have no expereince with such things.
Work is at a nuclear facility, visitors; janitors, those without a secret clearance etc, are monitored. Illegals don't get past the gate.

Here's the job posting. Normally $17/hr, but as part time I don't draw retirement, medical etc. They give me more money instead. I've had a Secret (sometimes higher) clearance since I was 19. Joined the military at 17, to get on a submarine the FBI visited all my parents' neighbors to see what kind of bum I am. Easily refreshed when not needed, but (surprise!) DOD and DOE don't swap information. Anyone that meets the minimum requirements and can attain a clearance can be hired. I can work up to 30 hrs a week or one day every three months, they don't care. I'll do two 9 hour days; refresh the old project kitty.
I was thinking maybe a TWIC escort. (Transportation workers something something). I had to hire one when I picked up the Cappuccino that landed at the port of Baltimore. Pro tip: Don't search the interwebs for 'Baltimore Escort,' if looking for access to the port. The results are completely different.
