I picked up an '89 Sidekick this weekend from my-inlaws as a partial trade for a property they bought from us. It's been passed around the family for several years, so I had a decent idea of its condition. It runs & drives OK(it could use a tune-up & some brake work), but I knew it had a bit of rust...

So, my plan is to patch up the rust(honestly, it looks like I be fabbing up a new bed with some scrap steel I have lying around, patching the floors & probably re-doing the rockers w/some steel tubing), get a cheap eBay top & try to seal it up as much as I can for winter. I'm also thinking some POR-15 and a coat of bedliner on the inside & underneath to help keep the rust at bay for a year or 2. Then I'll toss on a set of mud & snow rated tires for winter, add a hitch mounted bike carrier & (hopefully) have a decent winter ride and mountain-bike hauler.

EDIT: OK, for whatever reason, the images aren't uploading...I'll try to post pics from work tomorrow.

Well, here's links to pics, as I still have no idea why the little insert image tool up top doesn't work for me...

Let's see it! I saw a Bronco II, 4 cyl, on the local Craig's List for $350 the other day. I was thinking that would be a pretty good dog, mtn bike hauler. Dunno if I want that albatross around my neck tho.

I love my fullsize Bronco, but I wouldn't wish a Bronco II on anyone. There are guys that like 'em, but I can't understand why when there's so many better similar vehicles out there.
