I stopped to pick up dinner on the way home and wound up talking with a couple who own this fine machine.
They must enjoy being asked about it, or haven't yet grown tired of it. For anyone who knows the difference, they went for the top of the line model that can go 0-60 in 4.2 seconds.
I didn't grab any pics while in the car, but it would be a nice place to spend some time. It also has a 17" infotainment/Mac screen, which felt like I had stepped into a sci-fi movie from 5 years ago.
There were a lot of slick details. The retracting door handles seemed just about magical. The charging port hidden behind a reflector adjacent to the tail light is super slick. I didn't see it before it flipped open and was hard pressed to see much of a cut line when it closed again. While it's way out if reach for me, I'm impressed that it is so inexpensive for what it is.
I want one but wife says no
Buddy is now working for them. Cool place.
Just saw one on the way to work this morning, they're good looking cars.
They are really cool. I worked on one before. I'm glad the people that owned it were cool and let you sit in it. The guy who owned the car I was working on was a dick to me and some other people that were asking him questions about it.
I like the styling a lot, but question all the 'gadgets'. Shouldn't you keep everything as simple and mechanical as you can to save battery power?
Power retracting door handles? 17" screen?

I saw one on the highway the other day. The guy was just as confused that there was some punk in a loud ass ms3 side by side listening to his car with the window down, as I was at the utter lack of noise at highway speeds. Neat stuff.

In principle, I agree with you. My guess is that both of those items are pretty low power consumers, especially if compared to heat or AC. On the flip side, they make the car seem more futuristic, which is likely a marketing ploy. The Prius outsells other hybrids because it is distinct.

America.
does it say something that you post pic and put America under it and it doesn't show up?
I love the Tesla, and I am not a fan of batteries. I like they way they look, the space inside and the range.
It is on the short list of lottery cars for me.
I put wheels on one today finally. It was a 60 but really cool none the less. I still really like these things.
My wife saw one, asked what it was, and then immediately said we need to get one. Now to start robbing banks.

Followed one from Baton Rouge to Nola the other day. 80 mph all the way. 4 passengers, very slick car on the road as well.
I followed 2 Aston Martins East on 33 heading out of Columbus the other day, one Vantage S and a Convertible.
I would have crawled over broken glass to drive either
I have yet to mess with an Aston. It's on my list with a Ferrari and a Lamborghini. I have mounted up Ferrari wheels but never got to pull one in. I mess with Maseratis all the time but no actually Ferrari. I have put tires on two R8s so that is kind of a Lamborghini.
guy I work with has owned 7 of them.. six he has never even seen as he sold the rights to them at a profit before ever taking delivery.
The 7th he is keeping.
He runs back and forth from DC to Boston all the time for his business, with all the free charging stations, the money he spends on owning the car is a wash for how much he would spend putting fuel in a regular car
saw one the other day while driving around town... I wasn't 100% sure what it was until I saw the badge out back... awesome stuff... I wouldn't be shocked to see more around here down the road... prob would see them more often if I would actually go into the city (Houston)
looked pretty neat, would be fun to test drive but I doubt that'll ever happen lol
There are a couple of them that live in my neighborhood. See a couple other ones on my commute on a regular basis. Even had one down at our last Championship Event of the year. Didn't get a chance to see it run or check it's times though.
Mrs. Junkie fell in love at first sight. So I guess it's on our lottery list too
They are really reasonably priced. I do not think they are that far off the price of a 5 series or an E class, are they?

They start out around $70k and go from there.
Okay, Messed with this P85 today. I had to replace the "gator" wheel lip protector. I think I am the only person in the shop that has messed with those gators.
Wasn't as bad as this.
I've seen quite a few of them around here over the pas six months. I never read much about them but, damn, are they eye catching on the road! I think they look fantastic, but I don't think one would work for me. If I were to spend that much on a car, it would be the one that I'd want to take on long, long road trips, and I'd be a little hesitant to do that in one of these.
