I was apparently over thinking the mulch plug. Mu brain went to hammer formed and welded 20 gauge sheet metal.

If you have any significant amount of leaves then the electric ones stink as they just don't put out the sort of power you need. If you have obstacles to negotiate then the cord gets stuck on everything.
I live in the woods and I had an electric one for years, then I bought this thing.

Soooo much better. I can blow leaves up steep hills, I can blow leaves 20 feet away from me, I can clear giant piles of stuff from anywhere. All you do to solve the storage issue is buy the fuel they sell in the cans at Home Depot.

Yeah, it's more expensive, but it's 93 octane, non-ethanol with fuel stabilizer and oil mixed in, so you just pour it in and never worry about mixing ratios or it going bad or it ruining the equipment.
The services I quoted wanted somewhere around $500 to clear my yard of leaves. So, the leaf blower is actually my Grassroots solution to leaves.
This would likely be effective.
