The GRM forums has the strangest collection of automotive enthusiasts ever. Only a Abnormal Psychology text book has as broad a spectrum of nuts, but not nearly the quantity.
That is all.

It's an equal opportunity addiction. That's why I dig The Mitty so much, get some of us together in person, and it's NUTZ! I've heard The Challenge is even more so.

I will have to get the Mitty on the schedule for next year, I have a plan for the challenge but that one is probably 2 years out.
Political beliefs? All over the place, from Attila the Hun to Flaming Liberals. Religious? Christians, Jews and even Wiccans. Any Muslims here? Gay, straight, black, white and tan. Wealthy to broke ass and unemployed. Military. From high end Engineers to bike mechanics. Active people from the US, England, Australia, Canada, Barbados, Germany and even temporary visitors to Korea and the Middle East. From 16yo to 70's. One common denominator- cars. And guess what? It works. Even if the answer isn't Miata.
I joined this forum when I viewed a video a member had put up of him firing up a Northstar V8...that was installed in a 1g MR2. Now THAT is abnormal.

I actually drove an NA for the very first time a few months ago. I finally get it!
If I hadn't been laid off, I probably would have one by now. Hell, if I can get the Alfa out of here, and find one that runs for less than a grand (I've heard they exist.. ), I may get one anyway. It's got to get better gas mileage than the Corrado..
Calling me abnormal is the highest praise I could hope for.
Where else can we go with our abnormal ideas and have no one question WHY and most will help with HOW!!

I'm one of those ,too, but I live in Michigan. It's harder here.
+1 in most other automotive circles, my plans and ideas would be viewd with suspicion or actively mocked. Here, those plans are actively encouraged

Aren't you near Atlanta? I thought you can find just about any car you could ever want for pocket lint and gum wrappers there!
^I've seriousl considering bagging a job transfer to Atlanta for that very reason. My automotive ADD could possibly be satisfied there.

Gun loving, slightly to the left of middle, English and US citizen who was born in and lived all my life in the south. Unemployed college student and 22 and I have a major love for LBCs.
Best forums on the net. Yes, I've seen them all. Knowledgeable, generous, patient, friendly, funny adults. I wish I had more to contribute, but it's a fantastic place to lurk and I appreciate the help I've received very much.
I love you guys. I've always been a car nut, but was never encouraged or supported. You guys on this forum make this newbie feel like she can do anything! Especially since I don't have the sense to know better .
