Thanks. It's from the VSCCA races at Lime Rock earlier this year (assuming you're referring to the Alfa).

This one's a blast from my past. My grandmother passed in May 2007 and was a life-long resident of Minnesota and had been in Worthington since the 40s. A very close friend of mine from Dallas, Luke McKenzie accompanied me on the long road trip for the funeral. This is my favorite photo of him:

My first digital camera was a Canon PowerShot SD500 I snagged on Amazon for a "reasonable" price. This was totally automagic, especially since I had no clue how to adjust anything. The photo is special just because us two college guys both with design interests had a blast seeing what each other could shoot.

Here's the photo he took at the same time:

I took this a few years ago with a friend's point n shoot at work, I was pretty happy with how it came out.
I really need to get my last black and white roll developed and shoot some more!

This one always reminded me of a road through the deep dark woods. It's actually my parents driveway at about 4pm. Shot with a Cannon Powershot of some sort.

Thanks! A low-commitment way to start taking some macro shots would be to use a reversing ring for a setup like this: http://digital-photography-school.com/reverse-mounting-your-prime-lenses-for-affordable-macro-photography/

Donalson, swmbo needs/wants a macro lens for her K-X.

We have the 18-55 kit lens, Pentax DA 35 and 50mm primes, and a Tamron 18-200.

Any suggestions?

swank... sounds like you've got a good kit started but sorry I don't shoot pentax anymore so I don't have any real current input and never got into true macro... but check out the link joephilly posted above... another option... if you don't mind manual focus I know there are plenty of old k mount macro lenses... or another option is extension tubes like someone else here talked about... I looked into them at one point but never bothered...

Pentax only makes 2 macro lenses currently I think, the D FA 100mm and the 35mm f2.8 limited. Either works and for sure are great lenses, depending on what she's shooting. As mentioned there's a host of other FA, F, A, and older lenses out there, for every budget.

Extension tubes are good, cheap fun. As long as you're willing to shoot fully manual they're all you need for any sort of macro stuff. This was shot with an extension tube (14mm, I think) and a cheap Pentax SMC-A 50/2.

This is Anna. She's a mutt with a lot of Rottweiler mixed in. We picked her up from the side of the road. Shot with a Cannon Powershot. She tangled with a snake about 5 years ago and lost. This is the only good picture I managed to get of her. She did not like to be still.

Here's one of my favorites.

It was taken with a Pentax point and shoot while laying in a hammock. The dog was chasing the cat and I knew they would come screaming around from behind the garage. I snapped the pic and had to wait until the film came back from the drug store.
