This was shot from a bridge over a swamp. The flower was about 15 feet below me. Shot with a Nikon P500 at max zoom this past weekend.

this is another one I like... it was taken back in september of 2010 on isla bastimentos looking over towards bocas town in Panama (the lights in the bottom right) was shot with a pentax k10d with the 18-55 kit lens @ 28mm, 30s, f/4, ISO200

while it's a bit noisy I love the lighting in the distance, the moon and planet (I think it was mars but I could be wrong, but the real thing that kicks it for me is the lightning in the clouds above the town giving some definition to the clouds... I took several shots of this with some changes in exposure and while this one is a little rough around the edges non of the others have the clouds like that :)

and just because... this picture was taking at 7pm, 19 min before the first one I posted was taken

This was shot with my old D50 about 5 years ago. I've since replaced the truck (three times) and the camera with a D90.

here is my bald eagle shot... but yours is better as mine was not free range... It was shot at the Toledo zoo

it was shot with a pentax k10d with a super crummy quantaray 70-300 I think it was... it came with a mid/late 90's cheapo 35mm pentax along with a matching normal zoom for $75... but it was fun to play with especially with the in-body IS that the pentax has... anyway was shot at 170mm, 1/180, f/5.6, ISO400

I shot it though the bird netting (doable with the longer lens and had to do a bit of sharpening and color work in post to clean it up because of the net.

if I where to hang one of those on my wall (or my computer background) it would be the color... it gives a feel of a bit of depth, the fog feels to soften the image in the color while in the B&W it just looks like some marring on the image.

yet another one I shot down in Panama on the island... I've never seen a sky like this before in my life shot with my pentax k10d, an old 50mm 1.4 SMC lens (manual) shot at 30s, f/1.4, ISO200

and another neat one only difference is 83s exposure (bulb mode)

Dirtybird… that is an awesomely kewl shot. Found the exif data in tact… 13/1 second, f20.1, ISO 100 @ 24mm

I assume you weren't the driver?... my only real critique would be to be careful on squaring up the shot although in this case you could do it in post... IMHO the only real detractor from such a shot... a kewl licence plate would also have been neat but on public roads that could be a bit dangerous lol

donalson - sweet shots of the night sky. I read an article a while back where a photographer went to remote locations on a similar latitude coordinate of big cities, then photoshopped those pictures into the skyline of the cities and it was showing how the night sky would look in metropolitan areas without light pollution and it was a lot like that.

And thank you for the props on that shot. I was the driver, I used a tripod and a 15second delay. That road was not in use, a new neighborhood had been built and abandoned by the contract company building the homes. I did a horrible job cropping it a few years back. It was the last picture of the Trans Am before I re-did the interior and paint job and got me an A in one of my journalism classes.

Taken with a canon point and shoot. A friend ,Adam ,and I were driving dirt roads toward home after a business meeting. We saw a wisp of smoke through the trees and went to take a look. The smoke quickly got heavier. As we turned the corner tongues of flame were visible and a concrete truck was backing between the silo and the barn. I parked about 100 yards from the barn and took a few photos. The farmers were getting the cattle out and needed help. I told Adam that we needed to offer to help. We stood at the gate between the silo and barn to keep the cattle out of the road while the farmers cleared the barn. They got the herd out safely. We backed off and I took more photos. This photo was taken about 10 minutes after our arrival. At this point Adam and I were the only people that had shown up to help. The fire department arrived about 25 minutes after the fire started.

DirtyBird222, That's a very cool pic. I swiped it off a now defunct south FL F body forum many years ago and stuck it in my Pbucket. I have posted it on a couple Trans Am forums in pic threads, hope you don't mind (I did not take credit for the work).
